ROLE SUMMARY
- The Oncology Project Manager is responsible for the development and execution of oncology franchise Access strategies across the full product lifecycle in Oman, including pre-registration, pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases.
- The role drives cross-functional coordination to enable optimal patient access, supports key account engagement, and contributes to the development of sustainable oncology ecosystems across the country, including expansion beyond Muscat into high-potential regions and strengthening diagnostic infrastructure.
- Lead the engagements with payers and key stakeholders with the purpose of achieving and maintaining reimbursement & patient access of AZ OBU Portfolio in Oman Key accounts
- Based in Oman.
- Reports directly to OBU Market Access Head, Gulf.
What You’ll Do
Develop and Execute Oncology Access strategy to ensure achieving early access goals for existing and new launches, supporting overall Oman ambition:
- Establish Market Access strategies, objectives, and tactical plans in alignment with the brand strategies.
- Lead with the cross-functional team to develop and execute Pre-launch Market Access Strategies and plans driving accelerated access to key accounts.
- Work with cross functional teams to Implement market access short term tactics & long-term strategies, implement brand expansion accessibility plans supporting the life cycle management of OBU AZ portfolio.
- Identify, build, map enlisting processes and stakeholders involved. Maintain strong business relationships with key decision makers, relevant stakeholders and influencers.
- Contribute in developing relevant evidence supporting the access, generated through clinical trials, Health Economics models, RWE (Real World Evidence) studies, systematic literature research and meta-analysis effectively substantiating the full value potential of OBU AZ brands.
- Build relevant, solid, and localized value propositions, arguments with supporting evidence for accelerated and sustainable access.
- Collaborate with the Cross-functional team to develop pricing and contracting strategies to support AstraZeneca’s product positioning and penetration. Develop relevant pricing, outcomes-based agreements and contracting activities.
- Generate insights of market & stakeholders, identify areas of partnership/ market opportunities and threats to AZ business and provide deliverable solutions & recommendations.
- Monitor environment and practices for shifts, trends or behaviors, interprets likely impact. Set up innovative and impactful projects, recommend actions that support the needs of the customers and create win-win partnerships.
- Liaise and communicate with Oman government and private organisations to ensure relevant parties understand the positioning of AstraZeneca’s products, remove access barrier and deliver value-based discussions for OBU AZ products.
- Drive geographic Access expansion beyond Muscat, including engagement in: Sohar, Sur, Salalah as potential examples.
- Map and optimize patient referral pathways to key centers.
- Support the development of sustainable oncology diagnostic capabilities and biomarker testing access
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical, Regulatory, Market Access, and Supply teams.
- Map diagnostic pathways and support initiatives to enhance biomarker testing capabilities.
- Contribute to building sustainable in-country diagnostic infrastructure.
Stakeholders’ management
- Build map and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key payers, decision-makers, and influencers. Develop and implement engagement plans aligned with the OBU Disease’s Unit business priorities, fostering long-term partnerships.
- Establish strategic partnerships with Health Authorities through strategic health initiatives.
- Identify, map, establish and develop strong customer engagement plans for strong and sustained relationships.
- Develop and implement plans for stakeholders’ development & engagement in alignment with country & MA leaders.
Payer and Stakeholder Insights:
- Identify, analyse, and understand payer and stakeholder profiles, needs, and trends within the healthcare environment. Use these insights to tailor and communicate the local value story, demonstrating how AstraZeneca’s OBU disease medicines address specific needs across payer archetypes
Passion for Customer:
- Maintain close contact with key stakeholders including those who have significant influence in the access decisions with major hospitals/institutions for the assigned products.
Collaboration and Cross-functional Support:
- Work collaboratively across functional areas, ensure alignment on key priorities, actions and activities. Serving as a resource within the region and by leveraging the expertise of others.
- Act as a liaison between the access and other cross-functional areas, persuading, convincing or motivating a targeted audience through collaboration and direct or indirect influence.

- Maintain highest ethical standards and work in a spirit of AstraZeneca Code of Ethics, following rules & norms set by corporate policies.
- Ensure that all conducted activities are done in accordance with local legislation and corporate standards.
- Timely report (as per respective procedures): health/environment/wellbeing related accidents; adverse events that you became aware about; change in status of your Conflict of Interest.

- Create and implement impactful projects that address customer needs and foster win-win partnerships, supporting AstraZeneca’s mission of improving patient outcomes.
Essential for the role
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Proven track record in Oman Oncology market, with solid experience engaging payers, policymakers, and healthcare professionals to secure product access and reimbursement.
- Demonstrated strong oral, written and group communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities, including influencing, negotiation, collaboration, and teamwork.
- Leadership skills with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of responsibilities with minimal guidance.
- Strategic mindset and analytical thinking, problem solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Deep knowledge of the healthcare and reimbursement landscape in Oman markets, including stakeholders, regulatory and legislative processes, and associated challenges and opportunities
- Innovative thinker with a forward-looking approach to addressing market access challenges.
Desirable for the role
- Strong commercial background, ideally with a track record of bridging market access and commercial priorities.
- Exposure to market access, account management, or pre-launch activities
- Experience working across different regions within Oman
- Proven involvement in shaping healthcare policies through participation in industry working groups or similar forums.
- Digital proficiency, including familiarity with tools and platforms that support data-driven decision-making and market access strategies.
