Delivered FIDIC Contracts for a Main Contractor as the Commercial & Contracts Manager on site (No1)
45 Years successful trading as a Buildings Main Contractor. Group has delivered 5* Hotels, High Rise, Commercial, Healthcare & Education Projects across not only the United Arab Emirates but also the wider MENA & LEVANT region.
You will work alongside the P/D on site and be responsible for the commercial performance and profitability.
This means letting sub-contracts, contractual administration, Cost Value Reports, handling claims both up and downstream whilst managing change when it occurs.
You will understand the key importance of record keeping, documentation and issuing notices as per the
FIDIC contract.Do you have the people skills to manage a team. Can you pick people up when they are low, can you light people spirits when needed.
Can you deliver tough news to a client or sub-contractor but ensure they accept your next phone call. High emotional intelligence is key as everyone is under pressure here in this environment.
Can you keep a calm, methodical and calculated approach to work ?
Can you spot a strategy or angle that others can’t. You will work in tandem with the Project Director and be his key confidant.
This role is for someone looking to make a name for themselves and develop up the ladder as the Commercial Director will be retiring in 4-5 Years so succession planning is on the table.
Main Contracting Client - 45 Years + successful trading
- 2 awards Abu Dhabi a 1.6 Billion AED Mixed Use & a Industrial Facility for worth 700 Million AED
Requirements5 Years experience in the Middle East working as a Lead Surveyor / Commercial Manager on site for a Main Contractor
Strong knowledge of local UAE supply chain and client
In-depth working knowledge of FIDIC contract. Possess a broad contract knowledge and awareness
Degree Educated BSc Quantity Surveying only – Western University
CV must show stability and loyalty as the client won’t entertain 5 Job moves in 10 Years
Understand its a 6 day working week on site and the challenges of working for a Main Contractor
