JOB TITLE: Principal Engineer - Construction
 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 


  • Purpose & Scope of Responsibilities:


  • Within the Project Delivery Support function, providing support for Construction activities during tendering phase.


  • Primary Duties:


  • Effectively manage all activities and personnel within the scope of responsibilities in compliance with Company Code of Conduct and develop tools and work processes to deliver and monitor all Construction Support to Proposals activities, as specified below:


  • Provide support during tendering phase for the development of best construction & subcontracting strategies whilst matching Clients targets and stakeholder’s satisfaction,


  • Support Proposals Department for construction related clarifications and meetings with Clients,


  • Participate in management Risk and Cost Reviews as required,


  • Develop construction related deliverables for bid submission (Construction Execution Plan, Organization Chart, Construction Management Team histogram, temporary facilities and mobilization plans, …),


  • Estimate the temporary facilities requirements (camp, offices, warehouse, …) for the Proposal,


  • Ensure that the bids include the most competitive and best possible input of accumulated construction experience, lessons learned, innovation and estimations,


  • Lead constructability reviews and enforce reporting of action status during tendering phase for a safe, on time and cost-efficient construction in line with tender requirements,


  • Participate in the definition of subcontracting strategies and evaluate/clarify subcontractor’s technical bids,


  • Provide guidance and support on subcontracting aspects, scope definition & responsibility matrices, earthmoving approach, TSF establishment and operation, efficient deployment and optimum utilization of Construction Management Team,


  • Ensure safe, competitive, fit for purpose standardized and simplified fabrication and modularization strategies/schemes are set at tendering phase in line with tender requirements,


  • Work closely with engineering disciplines and Project Controls for optimum Project design, BOQ reviews and schedule,


  • Monitor the performance and development of personnel, recommending genuine and merit-based performance assessment for all personnel under his authority,


  • Continuous improvement through initiatives.

  • Relevant degree or diploma.
