Lead Estimator - Interior Fitout Contracting Dubai

Role Overview
We are looking for a highly capable and commercially astute Lead Estimator to take ownership of our estimating function. This is a key leadership role responsible not only for producing accurate, competitive, and high-quality Bills of Quantities (BOQs), but also for driving consistency, accountability, and best practice across the estimating team.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring our pricing reflects true market value—balancing competitiveness with quality—while supporting the business in securing profitable, deliverable projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop the estimating team to ensure consistent performance and output quality
• Establish clear processes, standards, and checks across all estimating activities
• Promote a culture of accountability, attention to detail, and commercial awareness
• Work closely with Design, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure alignment from pricing through to delivery

1. BOQ Production & Commercial Accuracy

• Take full ownership of preparing and reviewing detailed BOQs across multiple projects
• Ensure all BOQs are comprehensive, accurate, and clearly structured
• Rigorously check quantities, rates, and assumptions prior to submission
• Challenge supplier and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitiveness and transparency
• Ensure all submissions represent best value for money, not simply lowest cost

1. Supply Chain & Market Engagement

• Leverage an extensive UAE-based contact network to obtain competitive and reliable pricing
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers
• Continuously benchmark rates and track market trends to keep pricing current and competitive
• Identify opportunities to improve value through alternative materials, methods, or procurement strategies

1. Risk Management & Due Diligence

• Identify commercial risks, gaps, and inconsistencies within tender documentation
• Ensure all assumptions, exclusions, and qualifications are clearly documented
• Prevent late-stage surprises by ensuring full due diligence is carried out prior to submission

1. Tender Strategy & Business Support

• Support bid strategy by advising on pricing approaches and commercial positioning
• Work closely with senior leadership to align estimates with company objectives
• Contribute to post-tender reviews and continuous improvement of estimating processes

Key Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior or lead estimating role within the UAE construction or fit-out sector
• Strong track record of delivering accurate, high-quality BOQs on complex projects
• Extensive UAE supply chain network with established relationships across trades and suppliers
• Deep understanding of local market rates, procurement practices, and commercial standards
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• High level of attention to detail and a methodical approach to checking work
• Ability to challenge pricing and drive value without compromising quality
• Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams
