A leading financial institution undertaking a large-scale data modernization program. The organization is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to support, enhance, and optimize its enterprise data platform, ensuring reliability, scalability, and governance across the data ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and optimize core components of the enterprise data platform, including storage, compute, cataloging, and governance layers.
• Implement platform performance improvements, automate recurring operational tasks, and execute best practices for data storage and lifecycle management.
• Deploy self-service capabilities for data teams and ensure proper monitoring, logging, and lineage capture across platform processes.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery procedures, including failover scenarios, backup strategies, and annual testing activities.
• Support platform migration and decommissioning initiatives, ensuring secure, stable, and compliant transitions.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and operational teams to ensure consistent platform governance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Strong experience managing large-scale cloud-based data platforms, including storage, compute, and metadata layers.
• Hands-on expertise in platform operations, performance optimization, automation, and monitoring frameworks.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery planning, high-availability strategies, and operational readiness practices.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation, version control, and event-streaming or search technologies.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and experience working in agile, cross-functional engineering environments.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
