Job Purpose

Support the senior team members with the purchases of high quality merchandise at the most advantageous price in order to meet and maintain merchandising standards and sales and profit objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Buyer with assessing stock by store, looking for inconsistencies in the assortment and recommending decisions on listing/delisting/discontinuing.
• Manage and coordinate the animation calendar for all temporary podium locations across Department stores and mono stores.
• Liaise with planning team to ensure adequate stocks are obtained for the above.
• Liaise with brands ahead of big brand moments (Ramadan/Festive), to understand their activities and acquire participating in institutional campaigns for DS and Areej.
• Coordinate with brands / principals to collate product samples and ensure that they are available for marketing and online shoots.
• Review new launch template, in collaboration with junior associates, before handing over to buyers.
• Coordinate and follow up on tasks which are discussed during WWW or Wam meetings.
• Follow up with principals / suppliers in coordination with planning to ensure collection of products that have been delisted from the store portfolio and have been returned to the respective vendors (RTV).
• Maintain RTV tracker with RTV requests.
• Assess weekly zero sellers and prepare weekly/quarterly actions to increase ROS.
• Coordinate with suppliers and store teams to ensure that there is sufficient supply of testers within all of our stores.
• Compile all brand portfolios in the brand library for any potential new brands that are going to be under our portfolio.
• Consolidate buying feedback reports and provide Buyers with reports and recommendations per brand portfolio.
• Assist the Buyer in researching and selecting the best quality merchandise to offer at the best price to maximize sales and profit margins.

Job Requirements

Education / Certification

High School in any discipline followed by qualification in Retailing or Retail Management / Purchase / Sales or related programs.

Years of Experience

Good knowledge and experience in the related industry through work experience with international principals. Buying experience and expertise typically gained over a period of at least 1–5 years.
