Job Responsibilities:-Develop and optimize maintenance strategies (RCM, FMEA, PM Optimization)
-Define criticality ranking and risk-based maintenance approach
-Standardize reliability engineering methodologies
-Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major failures
-Validate technical conclusions and corrective actions
-Ensure elimination of systemic failure patterns
-Support CAPEX justification based on reliability data
-Contribute to lifecycle cost analysis (LCC)
-Identify bad actors and chronic assets
-Support long-term asset strategy
-Validate quality of condition monitoring data
-Supervise technical reliability assistants
-Analyse Weibull trends and failure statistics
-Ensure SAP-PM data integrity for reliability studies
-Act as technical reference for maintenance teams
-Mentor high-potential engineers
-Challenge technical decisions when required
-Align training programs with reliability best practices to develop team competencies.
-Validate technical procedures, capital investment justifications, and resource requirements to ensure alignment with reliability objectives.
-Align technical analyses with budget preparation and resource allocation.
-Validate and prepare reliability reports (weekly, monthly, annual) for management review.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Master’s Degree in a relevant technical field (advantage).
- Professional Certifications: Reliability Eng., RCM, Vibration Analysis, or Condition Monitoring (advantage).
Preferred Experience:- Minimum 8 years relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, reliability engineering, or asset performance roles in steel manufacturing or heavy industrial environments of which a minimum 3 years in mechanical reliability engineering with proven RCM and CBM applications.
- Relevant Experience may include:
- Troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of steel industry equipment (EAF, CCM, Rolling Mill preferred).
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of rotating and static mechanical equipment.
- Experience in Condition-based monitoring programs and asset health evaluation.
- Participating in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and failure investigations.
- Experience with Steel Making, rolling mills lime plant, or similar heavy-industry equipment is an advantage.
Job-Specific Skills:- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and steel plant equipment operations.
- Proficiency in reliability engineering methods (FMEA, RCM) and risk assessment.
- Ability to analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and potential failure modes.
- Expertise in Root Cause Analysis (fault tree, fishbone, Pareto) to validate solutions.
- Skill in developing and integrating preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Familiarity with condition monitoring techniques (vibration, thermography, oil analysis).
- Proficiency in reliability and maintenance software (CMMS, EAM, SAP PM/MM).
- Effective communication, alignment with cross-functional teams, and problem-solving skills in a multicultural environment.
- Skilled in preparing weekly, monthly, and annual reliability performance reports.
