Airbus US Manufacturing Facilityis looking for an NDT Level 2 Inspector (2nd Shift) to join our Manufacturing department based inMobile, AL.
The breadth of exposure as an NDT Level II Inspector is immense, as the organization is responsible for a large diversity of inspection types across A220 and A320 programs. You have the ability to engage with the process to provide continuous improvement to complete the mission and to be part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your Working Environment:
On ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Perform a large diversity of NDT inspections (ET, UT and PT) across A220 and A320 programs.
Interpret, evaluate, communicate, and report findings to production and engineering teams.
Interpret and review engineering drawings as required
Perform and/ or Support the development of NDT inspection techniques for complex geometries and confined spaces.
Assist in training and developing others within the team.
Conducts tests to resolve if parts meet quality specifications or specifying discontinuities.
Ensures strict alignment to safety laws.
Prepare the respective inspection reports, mappings and documents related to the inspection record.
Reviews production schedule and works to facilitate meeting schedules
Contribute to internal Quality Gates through on-time point closure
Report/advance team blocking points throughout the shift
Actively supply to department current KPI’s in order to drive improvements
Is an advocate for LEAN within group; encourages LEAN thinking and supports and assists in the implementation of LEAN initiatives/KAIZENS
Ensures all processes are followed
A minimum of 3 years' experience in setting up and conducting tests on parts and materials.
Non-Destructive Evaluation Level II certification meeting the minimum requirements of NAS410 / EN4179 Standards, in at least one of the following methods:
Eddy Current Testing (ET), Fluorescent Penetrant Testing (PT), or Ultrasonic Testing(UT)
Additional Non-Destructive Evaluation Level II certifications in meeting the minimum requirements of NAS410 / EN4179, in the following methods: Eddy Current Testing (ET), Fluorescent Penetrant Testing (PT), or Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
Experience performing NDT testing within the aerospace industry
Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Suite etc.
Experience inspecting advanced materials such as high strength aluminum alloys, hardened steels, Inconel, titanium, steel (super alloys), Composite Carbon fiber parts and Honeycomb Composite parts.
Knowledge of AWS/ASME, ASTM standards, Aircraft Structural and Repair Manuals.
Hands on experience using portable digital equipment such as Olympus EPOCH 650, USM Go/USM Go+, NORTEC 600, Olympus 38DL+
An Associates' Degree in Aviation, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience utilizing testing equipment including maintenance and calibration of said equipment.
Preferred: 2+ years of relevant work experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably with an aviation company.

Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read
documents, reports and engineering drawings.
Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear
sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and
using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and
personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office
and production areas including uneven surfaces.
Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety
Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer
site
