Job Purpose
To provide technical leadership and oversight in mine planning activities by developing, optimizing, and integrating short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans that ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction of mineral resources. The role supports Mine Technical Support by aligning planning strategies with production targets, improving operational performance, and continuous improvement through collaboration with geology, operations, and other stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities
Lead development and optimization of short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans aligned with production targets and resource utilization.
Provide technical support to operations, monitor plan vs. actual performance, and drive productivity and cost improvements.
Collaborate with geology, survey, and operations teams to integrate data and ensure effective mine-to-mill alignment.
Ensure compliance with EHSS, regulatory requirements, and safe mine design practices.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhance planning processes, and lead team performance and development.
Minimum Qualifications,
Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
Professional certification or postgraduate qualification in mining or related field is preferred.
Minimum Experience and Competencies
Minimum 8–12 years of experience in mine planning and technical support, preferably in open-pit mining operations.
Proven experience in short-, medium-, and long-term mine planning, pit optimization, and scheduling.
Experience in integrating geology, geotechnical, and operational data for planning and decision-making.
Demonstrated exposure to production monitoring, cost control, and performance improvement initiatives.
