Key Responsibilities:
· Install and extend fiber optic cables (aerial and underground) according to technical designs.
· Perform fiber splicing using specialized fusion splicing equipment.
· Conduct quality tests using OTDR, Power Meter, and other fiber testing tools.
· Locate and repair faults in the fiber network efficiently.
· Prepare technical reports and documentation after each job.
· Coordinate with network and project teams to ensure timely task completion.
· Adhere strictly to safety procedures and company regulations while working onsite.
· Update as-built drawings, fiber maps, and infrastructure records regularly.
Qualifications:
· Diploma in a technical field or secondary education with practical experience.
· Preferably holds a certification such as: Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) or equivalent.
· 1–3 years of relevant work experience in fiber optic installations and maintenance.
Required Skills:
· Proficiency in using fiber testing tools (OTDR, Power Meter, etc.).
· High-level fusion splicing skills.
· Familiarity with different fiber connectors and cable types (SC, LC, ST, etc.).
· Ability to read technical drawings and network schematics.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
· Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
· Reliability, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
