Contract & Claims Experts-Operation and Maintenance

We are seeking a Contracts & Claims Expert with a background in Railway (Rails) infrastructure projects and exposure to Operations & Maintenance (O&M). The role involves managing contractual matters, claims, disputes, and ensuring compliance across railway O&M operations.

Contract Management

• Review, draft, and administer contracts related to railway O&M, track works, signaling, electrification, and rolling stock maintenance.
• Ensure contractual compliance with FIDIC or equivalent railway contracts.
• Interpret contract clauses and provide guidance to project teams on rights and obligations.
• Manage subcontractor agreements and ensure alignment with main contract requirements.

Claims & Dispute Management

• Identify, evaluate, and prepare contractual claims such as:
  • Extension of Time (EOT).
  • Variations & orders.
  • Cost escalation claims.
  • Disruption and delay claims.
• Prepare claim submissions, including documentation, narratives, and supporting evidence.
• Handle claim negotiations with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Support dispute resolution processes including mediation, arbitration, and adjudication.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Railway Engineering / Law.
• Postgraduate qualification in Construction Law / Contract Management (preferred).

Experience

• 2+ years of relevant experience in:
  • Railway infrastructure projects.
  • Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contracts.
  • Claims and dispute management.
• Hands-on experience with FIDIC/railway standard contracts.
• Prior experience in Metro Rail / High-speed rail / Freight rail O&M projects is highly desirable.
