FINANCIAL RETURNS
Assists in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans (Revenue). Monitor budget and control expenses without effecting quality.
Coordinates with House Keeping in Linen inventory to maintain the par stock.
Assists purchasing and Housekeeping in analysis and selection of new linen and uniforms by testing the materiel to get best quality vs. price.
PEOPLE:
Assists in managing day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching, training and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member’s performance.
Educates and train all team members in compliance with federal, state and local laws and safety regulations. Ensure colleagues are properly trained and have the tools and equipment to carry out their job duties.
May assist in difficult tasks and in high pressure of work during the high-volume period.
Assists in conducting functions such as interviewing, hiring, performance appraisal, counselling and dismissal, if necessary, to ensure appropriate staffing and productivity. Consult with Laundry Manager and personnel Manager, as appropriate, in performing these duties.
GUEST EXPERIENCE:
Ensure quality of service, manage the quality & Services of Laundry & Dry-Cleaning department. Checks constantly all laundry and dry-cleaning equipment, to ensure that machines are kept clean, properly maintained and in efficient operating condition, report Laundry Manager about malfunctioning of any equipment.
Prepare maintenance requisitions and maintain a follow up file to ensure that equipment does not fall into disrepair.
Monitor wash formulas and use of chemicals in order to maintain whiteness/brightness of linen and to ensure linen is returned to user departments free of stains and unpleasant odours.
Coordinate with Housekeeping and Food & Beverage departments to ensure that there is an adequate supply of linen and uniforms available at all times, in particular on weekends/ holidays/high occupancy and when laundry is closed.
Inspects Guest Laundry, Guest dry Cleaning and pressing work on a daily basis, to ensure that optimum quality of work, prompt pick-up and on time delivery of garments and report Laundry Manager for any short fall.
Prepares a monthly laundry & dry-cleaning production summary report.
Establish and updates a 3-year plan, including necessary replacement / addition of equipment.
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS:
Propose / implement in coordination with Engineering department, possible energy saving (Green Engage) in the laundry and dry-cleaning department.
Provide PPE (Personnel protective equipment) to all laundry & dry-cleaning staff and make sure the PPE being used to protect them from chemicals / heat.
Scheduling working times in a way to optimize production, utilization of equipment well as utilization of water and energy.
Qualifications;
Higher Secondary school certificate, plus three years’ experience in Laundry & Dry-Cleaning operations preferably in 5-star hotels.
Must have textile knowledge (textile diploma is preferable)
