JOB OBJECTIVES
Process optimization: To design, implement, and optimize advanced process control (APC) strategies to enhance operational efficiency and output. System reliability and efficiency: To monitor and troubleshoot APC systems to ensure reliability and minimal downtime. Interdisciplinary collaboration: To collaborate with operations and engineering teams to integrate APC solutions with existing processes. Data analysis and modelling: To analyze process data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Safety and compliance: To ensure APC solutions comply with safety, environmental, and industry regulations. Innovation in control systems: To develop and maintain simulation models to support process control initiatives. Troubleshooting and problem-solving: To provide training and technical support to operations personnel on APC tools and methods. Continuous improvement: To lead continuous improvement projects focused on reducing costs and enhancing plant performance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Control, or a related fiel
Job Related Work Experience
1- Work experience in process control, preferably in gasification, power generation, or chemical industries
2- 5 - 8 Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Advanced Process Control tools, and simulation software
Job-Related Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in APC tools (e.g., Aspen DMCplus, Honeywell Profit Controller)
- Proficient: Understanding of gasification, combustion, and power generation processes
- Proficient: Strong background in process modeling, simulation, and optimization
Advanced: Knowledge of safety protocols and industry regulation
Proficient: Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced: Strong programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
