NES Fircroft is currently recruiting a Telecommunication Commissioning Engineer for an Oil & Gas project based in Qatar.
The Commissioning Engineer will be involved in the fabrication, installation, and commissioning of telecommunications systems, working closely with engineering teams and project stakeholders to support the successful delivery of project objectives across offshore and onshore environments.
Key Responsibilities

• Support fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning of telecommunications systems
• Assist lead engineers and project managers in the execution of ongoing project activities
• Perform system configuration, programming, troubleshooting, and integration tasks
• Provide technical support during project execution and site activities
• Ensure all systems are installed and commissioned in accordance with project specifications, procedures, and quality standards
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and commissioning records
• Contribute to maintaining project schedule, quality, and performance targets

Job Requirements

• Degree in Telecommunication, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
• Relevant experience in telecommunications systems within the Oil & Gas or related industry
• Offshore experience is mandatory
• Strong knowledge in one or more of the following systems:
  • GMDSS Radio systems
  • VHF/UHF communication systems and repeater systems
  • VSAT and satellite communication systems
  • CCTV and surveillance systems
  • PAGA and PABX systems
  • LAN/WLAN and IP-based communication systems
• Hands-on experience in installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of telecom systems
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work within project timelines
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
• Good communication and technical reporting skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel) and engineering tools such as AutoCAD
• Candidates must be willing and able to be based in Qatar
