As the business expands, we are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to be part of Qatar Airways Cargo Operations Team in Doha as a Lead Cargo Trucking Operations Officer.



About the role



The role will be responsible to conduct analysis on trucking solutions used for Qatar Airways Cargo to ensure smooth functioning of all aspects of trucking solutions in use by Qatar Airways and following up of Service Level Agreements (SLA) and standard operating procedures. Provide continuous improvement methods on trucking solutions.



Accountabilities include, but not limited to:



Strategic



  • Liaising through contracts with GSA in reviewing and finalizing of trucking agreements for cargo to start moving.
  • Support with optimizing and expanding the trucking network to capture additional sales opportunities.
  • Coordinate with contracts department on issuance of RFQ/RFP for shortlisted vendors. Liaise with other departments to collaborate / gain acceptance on significant projects.
  • Regular review of pricing and market rates to ensure competitive pricing structures.
  • Ensure tiered tonnage discount rates are included in contracts to allow business growth.
  • Ensure agreed rates are properly registered in the different systems (e.g. CROAMIS) through the most efficient means, currently external provider SGS. Ensure adequate preparation for regional tenders and RFQ to achieve smooth and optimal negotiation results.

Operational



  • Ensure messaging interface with QR requirements – FFM, booking, FSUs messages.
  • Ensure that there are direct supervisory support/implants from trucking providers at large hubs to ensure smooth interface with QR flights.
  • Ensure the scheduled services are maintained and protected and the availability of ad hoc trucks is within agreed timeframes to meet the customer needs.
  • Implement and follow-up on SLA for trucking providers.
  • Ensure interface with trucking supplier and QR departments is effective and where necessary SOP are implemented – Unit Load Device control, regional ops management, customer services, reservations, etc.
  • Coordinate the administration of CMC and contract requirements and processes for new/renewed contracts.
  • Communicate with network on potential trucking options and possibilities.
  • Interface with Revenue Management for ad hoc / special trucking requirements.
  • Provide on-site visits to network where additional support is required.
  • Reviews periodic performance reports as determined by business to local, regional and HQ management.
  • Design and conduct workshops through presentations and manuals to improve quality of trucking solutions.
  • Conducts preliminary analysis on the setting up of new trucking solutions based on business opportunities.
  • Investigate irregularity analysis and provide corrective and preventive actions to avoid quality defects.
  • Conducts ad hoc Trend analysis to identify improvement actions.
  • Interface with local and regional operations staff to ensure the trucking oversight and interaction is in place at key stations.
  • Follows up and maintains operating policies and standards including compliance to dangerous goods rules and procedures. Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
