HVAC Engineer - Facilities

The HVAC Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimization of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems within facilities. The role ensures efficient performance, energy optimization, regulatory compliance, and high standards of occupant comfort and safety.

Operations & Maintenance

• Oversee daily operations of HVAC systems including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems, and BMS controls.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot HVAC system failures and implement timely corrective actions.
• Monitor system performance to ensure optimal efficiency and minimal downtime.

Facilities Management

• Support facility operations by ensuring HVAC systems meet operational requirements.
• Coordinate with facility teams for maintenance schedules and shutdown planning.
• Ensure compliance with company standards, local regulations, and health & safety requirements.

Project & Technical Support

• Participate in installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems.
• Review HVAC designs, drawings, and specifications for new or retrofit projects.
• Provide technical input for upgrades, replacements, and energy efficiency improvements.

Energy Management

• Analyze HVAC system performance and recommend improvements for energy optimization.
• Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices.
• Monitor utility consumption and prepare performance reports.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure all HVAC systems comply with HSE standards and local codes.
• Conduct routine inspections and audits.
• Maintain documentation for maintenance, certifications, and system records.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Manage external contractors and service providers.
• Review contractor performance and ensure adherence to SLAs.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders for facility-related requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in HVAC systems within facilities or FM environment.
• Arabic proficiency is mandatory
• Experience in commercial, residential, or industrial facilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC design, installation, and maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with BMS (Building Management Systems) and energy management systems.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of HVAC codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability practices.
