Description- Act as a Technical Advisor and subject-matter expert, providing advanced engineering support to resolve complex technical issues related to Flight Simulator Training Devices (FSTD) and Cabin Crew Training Devices.
- Perform systems analysis and design for new projects and programs involving training devices.
- Support the maintenance of all training devices in accordance with applicable qualification standards and CAE Middle East LLC quality guidelines and procedures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for complex software, hardware, and performance (QTG) issues; lead technical troubleshooting and provide on-the-job training to engineers and technicians.
- Provide short-term technical dispatch support, including Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations.
- Maintain accountability for software configuration control across all training devices.
- Debug, analyze, and actively participate in resolving complex software, hardware, and performance-QTG issues.
- Develop, implement, test, integrate, and present software fixes (local and/or provided by CAE Montreal) on all simulators.
- Monitor and manage assigned issues within SimIssues, ensuring timely updates and resolution.
- Participate in project reviews and evaluate system design and architecture to ensure alignment with project and customer requirements.
- Support CAE Montreal teams during simulator installation, including software integration, performance-QTG, and hardware requirements.
- Participate in simulator acceptance processes, including review and acceptance of the initial Master Qualification Test Guide (QTG).
- Act, as applicable, as the main point of contact with relevant aviation authorities for recurrent evaluations, post-evaluation reporting, and authority-related communications.
- Participate in technical meetings, National Aviation Authority (NAA) debriefs, and Service Level Agreement (SLA) review meetings with CAE leadership and customers.
- Collaborate closely with customers, engineers, authorities, and CAE Customer Service to address business-critical issues.
- Support SLAs across the Middle East region, including international travel when required.
- Comply with all local and global CAE Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards and safe working procedures.
- Exercise duty of care for personal health and safety and that of others affected by the work.
- Perform additional duties as reasonably required to support the smooth operation of CAE Middle East LLC TCOPS.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of CAE software and applications, including CAELIB, STARTEAM, Strive Framework, Visual Systems, SIM XXI, Simfinity, Launchpad, and ITMS.
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, including C, C++, FORTRAN, and Perl.
- Experience with Microsoft development tools for the Windows platform (Visual Studio 6.0 and higher).
- Knowledge of simulated systems and avionics/instrument interfaces, including SIM XXI and CAE R3, R4, R5 technologies, and 7000 XR.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and debug integrated systems.
- Knowledge of software configuration management and control processes.
- Understanding of flight aerodynamics.
- Experience working with Qualification Test Guides (QTG).
- Knowledge of applicable local and international aviation regulations (e.g., EASA, FAA) related to FSTDs.
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions with limited supervision, and adapt quickly to changing technology.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications- Advanced working knowledge of operating systems, software and system architecture, software development tools, utilities, and configuration management systems.
- Prior experience acting as a technical focal point with aviation authorities during evaluations.
- Experience supporting Service Level Agreements in an international or regional context.
