Position Summary:


The Field Service Engineer 3 – DeltaV DCS & Cybersecurity provides advanced technical support for Emerson’s DeltaV Distributed Control System and related cybersecurity solutions. Based in Doha, this role supports customers through the full service and project lifecycle, including maintenance, resident engineer assignments, diagnostics, installation, commissioning, start‑up, and issue resolution. Acting as a key technical focal point, the role partners closely with customers and internal teams to enhance system performance, reliability, and cybersecurity posture while delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.


In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:


  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact for customer service contracts, projects, and technical support activities.
  • Perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and system health checks in line with customer and contractual requirements.
  • Lead and execute service and project activities, including site surveys, design reviews, installation, commissioning, upgrades, and start‑up.
  • Support and perform basic to advanced cybersecurity assessments and on‑site cybersecurity implementation activities.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, collaborating with global support and engineering teams as required.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to customers to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Support resident engineer rotations, preventive maintenance tasks, and emergency on‑call support to meet response time commitments.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture, functional design specifications, software design documents, and method statements.
  • Participate in factory and site acceptance testing, plant start‑ups, and system upgrades.
  • Mentor and guide service engineers and technicians, supporting skill development and knowledge sharing.
  • Identify potential service or product opportunities at customer sites and communicate leads to sales teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Emerson business processes, documentation requirements, and health, safety, and environment standards.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety & Environment policies as laid by the organization.

For This Role, You Will Need:


  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience supporting industrial automation or control systems in customer‑facing or service environments.
  • Strong understanding of DCS, PLC, or related automation technologies and system integration.
  • Experience working on site with installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel and work at customer sites, including participation in on‑call support as required.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:


  • Experience with DeltaV DCS, safety systems, or industrial cybersecurity solutions.
  • Exposure to IT/OT integration, networking, or industrial communication protocols.
  • Experience supporting oil and gas, process, or energy industry projects.
  • Relevant technical certifications or formal training in automation or cybersecurity domains.
  • Ability to obtain required work permits, certifications, or site access credentials in Qatar
