Assistant Mechanic - GSE

About the role

The GSE Assistant Mechanic is to ensure that all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance tasks are carried out under the supervision of Mechanic to the highest possible standard. All work should be performed as per manufacturer maintenance manuals and GSE workshop procedures, in the most productive and cost effective manner using the available resources.

Some of the tasks include: 

• Responsible for the completion of assigned tasks to provide satisfactory service to customers.
• Able to continue with assigned tasks under supervision
• Operates equipment or tooling relating to work area to meet time frame objectives for tasks.
• Interprets information over a range of normal activities to maintain satisfactory continuous operation.
• Meets set productivity standards.
• Accountable to comply with the company health and safety policy
• Task must comply with the technical instructions to carry out maintenance on ground equipment, and sign off that work completed is in accordance with the stated instructions
• Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department
