Summary Senior Designer - Rail should be a
Diploma in Engineering / Graduate in Engineering and should ………………
•Perform engineering work related to configuring, deploying, maintaining and upgrading CAD models.
•Design, develop and engineer high quality models using 3D and 2D CAD tools. (Microstation, AutoCAD, Revit, AECOsim, Civl 3D, Microstation)
•Produce designs that meet targets for feasibility, performance, costs, quality, safety, legislation and timing.
•Ensure that all work carried out is compliant with company design, safety, quality, environmental compliance and procedural standards.
•Update and maintain product design files.
•Assist in improving daily processes to ensure that the CAD systems meet customer requirements.
•Determine limitations, assumptions and solutions in the design and development of CAD models.
•Assist in implementation of CAD engineering applications.
•Determine design specifications and parameters for CAD models.
Technical and Development
•Should have working knowledge on 3D and 2D CAD tools. (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, AECOsim, Civil 3D, Open Rail)
People and Team
•Participation in the Jacobs’ Community of Practice and support the discipline Technical Director’s initiatives
•Build appropriate relationships with relevant project stakeholders
•Work towards achieving “best for project” outcomes
•Expand their professional development in line with team objectives
Client and Industry
•Support team activities in client relationship development
•Support project service delivery to internal and external clients
•Contribute to team efforts towards marketing opportunities for new business
•Support strong service delivery to all clients
•Attendance at external project meeting
Project Delivery and Performance
•8-15 years’ experience on multidisciplinary Rail projects.
•Support Discipline Leads and Project Managers in managing operational risk, project delivery, HSEC, quality and service
•Identify issues that would impact on desired project outcomes and raise with discipline lead
•Provide progress information on your own work to allow accurate reporting of progress
•Identify and communicate your workload, availability and time constraints
•A desire to achieve high quality outputs and deliver excellent service
•Good communications skills
