As a Qualcomm Software Application Engineer, you will provide technical expertise of software systems through technical presentations in support of business development, product demonstrations, design and development of customer specific requirements, commercialization, and maintenance of Qualcomm products. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to address questions, issues, debugging, or troubleshooting regarding software systems and applications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
• 1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• 1+ year of any combination of academic and/or work experience with debugging techniques.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Camera HAL3 development and Android camera frameworks.
• Strong C and C++ programming and debugging skills.

• Strong knowledge of Android camera, image, or video processing.

  
  
  

• Strong knowledge of operating system fundamentals, including virtual memory, CPU scheduling, process states, synchronization, etc.

  
  
  

• Strong knowledge of concepts such as RTOS, RAM/cache, interrupt handling, etc., as applied to embedded systems.

  
  
  

• Hands-on experience with real-time issues such as memory/stack corruption, ANR, deadlocks, race conditions, etc.

  
  
  

• Strong debugging and analysis skills, including data and statistical analysis, and proficiency in performance and power.

  
  
  

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to understand and explain highly technical information in a clear and concise manner.

  
  
  

• Willingness to travel to customer sites and other Qualcomm office locations to co-develop next-generation smartphones.

  
  
  

• Working experience in multimedia technologies such as camera or video frameworks is a must.

  
  
  

• Knowledge of the Windows camera stack and experience working with the Microsoft camera stack is an added advantage.
