Application Development Analyst

Cigna Healthcare is seeking a Junior Healthcare VISTA Developer to support and enhance a large-scale healthcare workflow platform used across multiple lines of business. This role provides an opportunity to grow as a full-stack developer while contributing to systems that support critical healthcare operations.  You will work in a collaborative environment that blends modern technologies with enterprise and legacy systems, gaining valuable exposure to both technical and business stakeholders within Cigna.Workforce planning and analysis: Analysing current and projected staffing levels, identifying skill gaps, and root causes of issues by analysing patterns and trends and forecasting future workforce needs to optimize deployment strategies. 

• Work closely with business leads, product owners, and subject‑matter experts to:
  • Analyze business requirements from implementation teams and translate them into well-structured Checklist Rules
  • Gather business requirements for checklist and workflow changes
  • Implement and validate updates that meet business unit expectations
• Own and support updates to the VISTA Checklist Authoring Tool, including:
  • Author and maintain checklist templates for new and existing Case types
  • Prepare and validate Clean Slate Excel uploads for bulk checklist rule replacement
  • Configuring and maintaining business‑unit‑specific workflows
  • Ensuring checklist logic aligns with operational and compliance needs
• Design, build, and maintain .NET 8.0 / ASP.NET Core APIs and services supporting healthcare workflows
• Develop and enhance Angular front-end applications using modern UI frameworks
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries
• Implement and maintain RESTful APIs, authentication, and system integrations

Qualifications:

Required:

• 1 – 3 years of software development experience
• Strong ability to analyze complex business processes and translate them into structured rule configurations
• Ability to communicate clearly with both technical teams and business partners
• Experience or strong foundational knowledge in C# and .NET 8+ (API development, Dependency Injection, async/await)
• Hands-on experience with Angular and TypeScript (components, services, RxJS fundamentals)
• Understanding of REST API design and consumption
• SQL fundamentals, including query writing and relational database concepts
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub, including branching and pull request workflows

Nice to Have Skills:

• Understanding of healthcare insurance operations, case management, enrollment, billing, or claims processing
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
• Support and troubleshoot legacy .NET Framework and Web Forms applications as part of platform stability and continuity
• Exposure to IBM DB2 (UDB and mainframe concepts)
• Experience with PrimeNG and Bootstrap 5
• Familiarity with OAuth2 / Okta authentication patterns
• Experience working with applications that support multiple database platforms
