We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our Group Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) team as ESG Expert.
The ESG Expert will support the Dubai and Islamabad based VEON Group ESG team, in the execution of Group ESG strategy by contributing to research, analysis, reporting, and coordination activities across key ESG initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, a keen attention to detail, and solid research and analytical capabilities, along with a good understanding of evolving ESG regulatory requirements.
The ESG Expert should be able to interpret regulatory expectations (e.
g., GHG emissions disclosure mandates), translate them into actionable requirements, and support the execution of reporting and submissions.
This includes coordinating data collection, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and working with internal stakeholders to meet compliance timelines while staying abreast of emerging regulatory developments.
The role reports directly to the Stream Head ESG and has no direct reports, with an extended team comprising cross-functional ESG contributors and market teams.
What does ESG Expert do?
Key Responsibilities Support the implementation and tracking of the 2026–2028 ESG strategy roadmap across the organization Conduct research and benchmarking on ESG trends, peer performance, ratings methodologies, and regulatory developments Support ESG reporting processes, including data collection, validation, and alignment with global standards and internal requirements Assist in ensuring compliance with evolving ESG regulations and disclosure requirements across markets Assist in ESG ratings management by analysing rating frameworks, identifying performance gaps, and supporting improvement initiatives Contribute to the development of the Integrated Annual Report, including drafting content and aligning financial and non-financial disclosures Support coordination with Investor Relations to position ESG as a value driver in capital markets engagement Consolidate ESG data from internal stakeholders and ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely reporting Provide coordination support for ESG governance forums, including agenda setting, documentation, and follow-up tracking Assist the team in building internal knowledge and supporting technical ESG analysis Key Deliverables Accurate and timely ESG data consolidation and reporting outputs aligned with global standards and applicable regulations Draft content contributions for ESG disclosures and annual reporting ESG compliance tracking against applicable regulatory requirements and frameworks Structured benchmarking and ratings analysis reports and recommendations Dashboards and trackers for ESG roadmap progress and reporting timelines Effective coordination, documentation and follow-ups for ESG forums and cross-functional coordination activities JazzWorld is an equal opportunity employer.

What are we looking for and what does it require to be ESG Expert?
Experience and educational requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Finance, Environmental Studies, Sustainability, or a related field 4–5 years of relevant experience in ESG, sustainability, research, reporting, consulting, or related domains Strong working knowledge of ESG frameworks and standards (e.
g., GRI, SASB, IFRS Sustainability standards) is required Soft Skills and Technical Skills Required Strong analytical and research capabilities Attention to detail with the ability to work with large datasets and multiple inputs Possessing an analytical approach towards handling project problems coupled with logic and reasoning Effective written and verbal communication skills, particularly for reporting and documentation Ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and stakeholders, and to work effectively in cross-functional teams Proactive mindset with strong ownership and accountability Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with ESG tools/databases is a plus Ability to leverage AI and digital tools for research, materials preparation, and reporting efficiency Basic understanding of financial and non-financial disclosures and capital markets dynamics is advantageous
