The CoreLab of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is recruiting a genomics and genotyping engineer to join its Biosciences division.

The UM6P CoreLab is a platform dedicated to research and research support, aiming to facilitate access to a wide range of cutting-edge technologies, expertise, and services offered to UM6P researchers and its partners at the national and continental level.

• Supervise and carry out routine operations of the genomics platform.

  
  
  

• Ensure the proper functioning of instruments and software.

  
  
  

• Guarantee the quality of the data produced.

  
  
  

• Identify needs, write specifications, analyze offers, and test platform equipment.

  
  
  

• Organize and supervise the reception, storage, processing of samples, as well as data collection and sharing.

  
  
  

• Perform genotyping, DNA and RNA sequencing, qPCR, qRT-PCR experiments.

  
  
  

• Design new experiments and develop appropriate protocols.

  
  
  

• Interpret the results obtained.

  
  
  

• Develop and optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory protocols and methods.

  
  
  

• Manage and perform primary analysis of genomic data produced by the platform.

  
  
  

• Use bioinformatics tools to perform primary analysis of sequencing data.

  
  
  

• Reception, processing, and classification of analysis requests.

  
  
  

• Plan and order necessary consumables for the laboratory.

  
  
  

• Handle samples: storage, packaging, preparation, etc.

  
  
  

• Provide advice and support to laboratory users.

  
  
  

• Actively participate in the various laboratory activities.

  
  
  

• Apply hygiene and safety rules in the laboratory.

  
  
  

• Participate in the platform certification process.

  
  
  

• PhD, Master's, or Engineering degree in molecular biology, microbiology, biotechnology, or a related field.

  
  
  

• Experience with various molecular biology techniques: DNA extraction, qPCR, qRT-PCR, microbial and plant genotyping, primer design, etc.

  
  
  

• Knowledge and experience in bioinformatics, particularly for DNA sequence analysis, BLAST, sequence alignment, microbial identification, genotyping, phylogenetic tree generation, primer design, etc.

  
  
  

• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols.

  
  
  

• Excellent organizational skills (time and priority management).

  
  
  

• Excellent communication skills (French and English).

  
  
  

• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively.

  
  
  

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  
  
  

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality or accuracy.
