Scope


Overall responsibility for team success by agreeing, implementing and monitoring individual and team objectives and targets whilst ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to.


Responsibilities: 


•Provide department support and supervise the staff in the air freight department.
•Prepare shipments for clients: customs clearance, shipping, distribution and identify their needs and provide feedback.
•Coordinate pickup and delivery orders with trucking companies, airlines, shipping lines, warehouses etc. to obtain necessary information in order the process shipments in the best way.
•Training of staff and motivate team members to accomplish the goals,
•Building and maintaining relationships (internal/external)
•Write weekly/monthly figures and reports
•Sets quarterly targets and objectives
•Communication- encourages respect and open communication within and beyond the team
•Review workflows and procedures and provides feedback to maintain a high quality of service level
•Documents, records and reports all discrepancies to include missed deadlines.
•Handling escalations from customers and internally
•Monitoring Operational KPIs on regular basis to ensure they are achieved and improved consistently.
•Issuing freight bills, invoices to brokers and responsible for collecting unpaid invoices within the credit term

Qualifications / Experience


•Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
•Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in a senior operations role within the freight forwarding industry.
•Good understanding of local and international shipping and freight forwarding practices is an advantage.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to analyze situations effectively and make sound decisions based on available information.
•Ability to adapt quickly to changing policies, procedures, and operational requirements.
•Proficiency in SAP, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite is an added advantage.
•Confident, proactive personality with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
