The role will provide leadership and oversight from a project and execution assurance perspective for mechanical engineering scope.

The Role
The Lead Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for the safe, high‑quality, and schedule‑driven delivery of mechanical engineering scopes across all project phases. The role provides technical leadership and project oversight, coordinating closely with EPC contractors, multidisciplinary engineering teams, and key stakeholders to ensure designs and deliverables align with project requirements. Accountability includes ensuring outcomes meet approved designs, specifications, budgets, schedules, and applicable Owner and regulatory standards while managing technical risk and supporting efficient project execution.

Responsibilities:
- Execute Mechanical work scope in accordance with applicable Project Procedures and Standards as a part of Integrated Project Management team to meet the quality, schedule, cost, and safety requirements.
- Represent the Company for Mechanical discipline matters for the project.
- Lead & co-ordinate all Mechanical Engineering activities for the project
- Review & approval of various technical documents to ensure it meets project requirements.
- Review of Painting, Insulation, Welding & Material Selection documents.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders on all technical issues to arrive at appropriate resolution.
- Field Engineering Support
- Identify & resolve major engineering and inter-discipline issues
- Value engineering and design optimization leading to savings in CAPEX.

Expected:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university with at least 15 years of experience in LNG as well as Refinery / Petrochemical projects
- Experience of working as a Lead Mechanical Engineer on LNG facilities / LNG terminal projects.
- Design & working knowledge of various LNG cryogenic equipment like double wall containment storage tanks, loading/unloading arms, loading/unloading hoses, BOG compressors, liquification package, utility packages, flare package, etc meeting international codes & standards.
- Well versed with applicable international codes & standards
- Well versed in Design requirements specific to Malaysia local regulation and Authority Approvals
- Possess good interpersonal skill with sound written & oral communication skills
- Highly motivated and demonstrates personal initiative.
- A team player and able to work under pressure without supervision.
- High level of awareness and commitment to safety in all aspects of daily work
- Adaptable and flexible to the changing needs of projects
- Well organized, observant, good interpersonal and communication skills
- Display both good judgment and leadership qualities
- Ability to work with timelines/targets.
