Background
1- Office/Unit/Project Description
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Jordan supports national efforts to achieve sustainable development through integrated programmes aligned with the Country Programme Document (CPD) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF). UNDP Jordan works across key pillars including Governance and Social Cohesion, Inclusive Growth, Climate Change and Energy, and Environment and Biodiversity, with a strong focus on advancing resilience, institutional effectiveness, and inclusive development.
The Governance and Social Cohesion Pillar at UNDP Jordan Country Office leads the design and implementation of integrated programmes that support inclusive governance, social cohesion, rule of law, and peacebuilding. The Pillar focuses on strengthening institutional effectiveness, promoting civic engagement, enhancing accountability and transparency, and supporting national efforts in preventing violent extremism (PVE), human rights, and inclusive political participation.
The Programme Analyst will contribute to a diverse and evolving portfolio of projects implemented in close partnership with government entities, civil society organizations, development partners, and UN agencies. The role supports evidence-based policymaking, programme innovation, and cross-sectoral collaboration, ensuring alignment with the Country Programme Document (CPD), UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF), and national priorities.
The position plays a key role in advancing UNDP’s strategic positioning in governance and social cohesion by supporting programme delivery, strengthening partnerships, and contributing to knowledge generation and policy dialogue at national and sub-national levels.
The Programme Analyst will work under the guidance of the Programme Manager/DRR and will be integrated into a dynamic team focused on Governance and Social Cohesion initiatives.
The Analyst will contribute to the overarching goals of the Programme and align actions with the objectives of other Office Units such as Climate Change and Energy, Inclusive Growth, and Environment and Biodiversity.
2. Scope of Work
The Programme Analyst will be responsible for the following key functions:
A. Ensure Programme Planning and Implementation
B. Provision of Technical and Analytical Support
C. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
D. Build Partnership and Coordination
E. Quality Assurance and Knowledge Management[DF1] [MA2]
F. Team Support and Supervision
The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as required for the efficient functioning of the Office.
3- Institutional Arrangement
The position reports directly to the Programme Manager/DRR and operates within a collaborative environment alongside other programme units. The Programme Analyst will liaise with counterparts in related disciplines to promote interdisciplinary approaches and resource sharing. The incumbent works in close coordination with colleagues across the Climate Change and Energy, Inclusive Growth, and Environment and Biodiversity teams, as well as with project personnel under the Governance and Social Cohesion portfolio
The incumbent supervises assigned support personnel/project staff as reflected in the approved organigram and delegation of authority.

methodologies, instruments, and tools.
Ability to systematically monitor results of strategies, programmes, and activities with a view to make sure that they are being implemented effectively; Ability to provide managers and key stakeholders with regular feedback and reporting on the consistency or discrepancy between planned activities and programme management and results.
Ability to make independent judgment of the management and results of strategies, programmes and activities based on set criteria and benchmark, keeping in mind the needs and concerns of client, current and upcoming.
Knowledge and understanding of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, concepts, methodologies, systems, processes, and tools. Ability to make an independent judgement based on set criteria and benchmarks. Ability to anticipate client's upcoming needs and concerns.

5- Minimum Qualifications of the Successful NPSA
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Political Science, Law, Social Science, Public Administration, Development, International Relations, or other related fields is required, or
A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced degree.
