An Ideal Candidate:

Core Roles and Responsibilities:

• Machine Setup: Align fixtures, load tools into the ATC (Automatic Tool Changer), and set work coordinate systems (G54-G59) and tool offsets.
• Program Management: Edit, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC programs (Fanuc/Siemens) to ensure efficient operation.
• Part Inspection: Use precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to inspect the first piece and maintain strict tolerance control.
• Technical Interpretation: Interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T symbols, and technical drawings to determine correct setups.
• Maintenance & Quality: Monitor machine operation for errors, perform daily maintenance, and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate setup sheets, tool lists, and production logs

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience as a VMC operator/setter.
• Strong knowledge of cutting tools, tool holders, and CNC processes.
• ITI/Technical certification is typically required. 

Key Competencies:

A VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Setter prepares CNC machines for production by setting up fixtures, tooling, and offsets, and validates the first piece for accuracy. Key duties include reading engineering drawings, adjusting parameters for high-precision machining, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC programs to meet production targets.
