An Ideal Candidate:

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret blue prints, CAD models, and technical drawings.
• CNC Knowledge: Familiarity with CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens) and G-codes/M-codes.
• Experience: Proven experience as a VMC operator or in a similar manufacturing role.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials.
• Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or ITI in machining is highly preferred.

Key Competencies:

A VMC (Vertical Machining Centre) Operatorsets up, operates, and monitors CNC machines to produce precise metal or plastic parts based on technical blueprints. Key duties include loading raw materials, selecting tools, setting machine parameters (speeds/feeds), performing quality checks using precision instruments, and conducting routine maintenance, often requiring experience in manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Setup: Configure VMC machines according to blueprints and engineering drawings, including setting up fixtures and loading tools.
• Operation: Run production cycles, ensuring proper operation to cut, shape, and form parts.
• Quality Inspection: Inspect finished parts for accuracy using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Tooling Management: Select the appropriate tools for the job and perform tool changes (taps, drills, cutters).
• Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor machine performance, adjusting feeds and speeds to optimize production and troubleshoot issues.
• Safety & Maintenance: Adhere to safety protocols (wearing PPE) and perform daily machine maintenance/housekeeping (cleaning).
• Production Documentation: Maintain accurate records of completed jobs, production counts, and quality reports.
