Responsibilities
Technical and Operational 

KEY ACTIONS
Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
•    Have comprehensive experience of toxicological risk assessment, preferably of consumer or formulated industrial products. 
•    Prepare and produce Toxicological Safety Assessments, labelling and general toxicological reports of chemical formulations to their appropriate regulatory requirements according to client and department services.
•    To maintain current awareness, to develop and utilise a detailed technical knowledge of directives, regulations and standards relating to consumer and chemical products to adequately fulfil job function and department services.
•    Be jointly responsible for the quality control of complex scientific projects.
•    Prepare and present material at in-house and external training courses and other seminars appropriate to fulfilling the requirements of department services. 
•    Quality Check and authorise reports such that errors, anomalies and subsequent credit notes are minimised.
•    The work also revolves around a comprehensive database system that has been developed in-house and continues to expand and develop as needs change; computer literacy is essential.
•    To ensure that the database is used in accordance with the practises of the department and Line Manager and to robustly and adequately provide comprehensive toxicological and regulatory information to all new and existing entries in the database.
•    To communicate to clients and co-workers in a clear, concise and unambiguous way, adopting a professional tone and style.
•    Pro-actively monitor workload and ensure work is progressed efficiently through the department and is reported within target turnaround times and own agreed objectives.
•    Ensure that work carried out, both personally and by the team, complies with both customer requirements and company procedures and those procedures are clearly and completely documented. 
•    Develop and maintain a culture of Quality and professional customer service by all staff within the team and ensure that work is carried out in accordance company practises.
•    Assist Business development team for Sales & Marketing strategies. Take technical ownership for marketing activities.
•    To work with minimal supervision under the overall direction of Line Manager
•    Any other duties consistent with fulfilling the primary job function, supporting the department and Line Manager.


Operational and Quality:
•    To produce accurate and scientifically defendable comprehensive toxicological safety assessments and other regulatory reports with minimal errors to a standard and turnaround agreed with your line manager and department objectives.
•    Focus on delivering high quality work keeping into mind the Intertek's Total Quality Assurance (TQA) promises to our customers. 
•    Enable the delivery of department workload on time
•    The ability to work efficiently with high attention to detail.
•    To develop and maintain smooth, co-operative and flexible working relationships with staff of all levels within the company. 
•    Supporting change within the team in order to meet department objectives. 
•    Be a Champion for 10X Energy, striving for continuous improvements to the way we work, adapting to find solutions to issues.
•    To support the department to deliver on our 5x5 strategic priorities and enablers


Business Development Support
•    Support in Marketing strategies. Take technical ownership for marketing activities.
•    Support business development activities by providing regulatory expertise when needed during visits to clients, through discussion and responses to new project briefs and administration.
•    Work with colleagues to foster a collaborative and co-operative environment within Assuris and also, developing links with other business areas in the Group.
•    Provide operational sales support identifying new projects and use a network of contacts to build new sales relationships.


Health, Safety, Environment; Compliance with company policies
•    Avoiding unsafe acts and follow company Health, Safety and Environmental procedures. 
•    Reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses no matter how trivial.
•    Adhere to the company policies like attendance, observance of work hours, adherence to schedule, compliance with rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and directives, safety practice and use of tools and equipment.
•    Follow the Zero Tolerance Policy, Company Code of Ethics, & openly supports and encourages ethical conduct while dealing with colleagues & customers.

•    Should be proactive in suggesting process improvement ideas.

We are Looking for You with
Qualification - Masters in Toxicology / Pharmacology / Similar science field with 5-10 years of experience in Toxicology & Regulatory Compliances.
Technical Certifications - Accreditation like EUROTOX, DABT is preferable


Expertise at
Required skills and experience Include (but are not limited to):
•    Masters or higher degree or significant experience in toxicology risk assessment, regulatory toxicology and global chemical & consumer product regulations.
•    Project management skills with significant experience in successfully leading and managing complex projects
•    In-depth knowledge and experience of Toxicological literature search, compilation, and analysis of data.
•    In-depth knowledge and experience of Toxicological Safety Assessments, labelling and general toxicological reports of chemical formulations to their appropriate regulatory requirements.
•    Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and communication (verbal, written, listening and presentation) skills in fast-paced, dynamic and changing environment. 
•    Must be absolutely pro-active and an able contributor to discussion.
•    Strong planning, organisation and decision-making capabilities; must be able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and solve problems with minimum supervision.
•    Persuasive, effective and flexible in personal interactions at all levels.
•    Ability to lead and work in cross-functional teams with a style that builds alliances and emphasises integrity, results, collegiality and effective teamwork. 
•    Developed scientific expertise to the level needed to analyse and interpret complex scientific issues within the overall field of toxicology/chemistry. 
•    Demonstrated potential for technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought.
•    Strong integrating and motivating skills to meet more complex project schedules/deadlines
•    Extremely strong writing skills as a professional scientist
•    Computer literate
•    Work is undertaken for customers across the globe, so an appreciation of cultural differences and an awareness of differing regulatory requirements is essential.
