You’ll create impact by: · PhD or master’s degree in computer science, Robotics, AI, or a related field from a reputed institute · Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience in solving sophisticated real-world problems with a strong emphasis on translating research into deployable solutions · Demonstrated experience across AI systems that get along with the physical world (robotics, sensors, edge devices, or cyber-physical systems) You’d describe yourself as: · Proven expertise in training deep learning models (CNNs, RNNs, Transformers, Vision Models) using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent · Strong proficiency in OpenCV, OpenGL, and modern 3D/vision toolchains · Deep understanding of image processing, computer vision, and video analytics, including implementation of advanced deep learning–based pipelines Hands-on experience in: · Object detection and tracking · Semantic/instance segmentation · Action/activity recognition · 3D reconstruction and scene understanding · SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) Strong experience designing AI systems that operate in and get along with the physical world, including: Robotics perception and control loops Autonomous systems and decision-making Real-time inference on edge/embedded platforms Familiarity with: · Embodied AI concepts (agent-environment interaction, closed-loop learning, perception-action cycles) · Simulation-to-reality (Sim2Real) pipelines using tools such as Isaac Sim, Gazebo, Unity, or Mujoco · Reinforcement Learning (RL), imitation learning, or behavior cloning for physical systems Experience integrating: Perception → Planning → Control stacks Physical constraints into AI models (latency, energy, stability, safety) Exposure to: Robotics frameworks (ROS/ROS2) Edge AI deployment (NVIDIA Jetson, embedded GPUs, RTOS systems) Real-time systems and safety-critical AI Experience with sensor fusion and multimodal perception (vision, LiDAR, IMU, audio, etc.) Experience in research → prototype → production pipelines Ability to identify optimal architectures and technologies for scalable solutions Strong exposure to multimodal AI systems and system-level design thinking Soft Skills (Must-Have): · Ability to translate sophisticated technical concepts into clear, structured communication for customers and collaborators Strong customer engagement skills: Understand business difficulties Convert them into technical problem statements innovative, pioneering solutions Strong awareness of: Emerging trends (Generative AI, Physical AI, Robotics AI, Edge AI) Ability to anticipate their impact on Siemens offerings and strategy Nice to Have: Experience with: · SaaS platforms and scalable AI services · Cloud-native architectures and deployment (AWS, Azure, GCP) · Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Experience in: · Robotics platforms and industrial automation Strong system architecture skills: · End-to-end solution design Shown ability to: · Influence technology direction · Drive adoption across engineering and business teams Active engagement with: · Research communities · Open-source contributions or publications Personal Attributes: · Highly energetic, driven, and outcome-oriented · Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate in ambiguity · Passionate about AI in the physical world and next-generation intelligent systems · Acts as a technology evangelist, promoting AI adoption and innovation within and beyond Siemens Join Siemens: Create a better #TomorrowWithUs! · We value your outstanding identity and perspective and are fully committed to providing equitable opportunities and building a workplace that reflects the diversity of society.
