This role is part of Alcon's Information Technology function, a team that delivers cutting-edge technology solutions to Alcon associates and customers to help our people and the world see brilliantly. The Sr. Associate II, Software Engineering (Science/Tech/Engineering Path) is primarily responsible for tackling complex software development tasks, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to large-scale projects.
Specifics Include:
• Lead the development of complex software systems, from design to implementation
• Participate in and contribute to software architecture decisions, influencing the technical direction of projects
• Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers within the team
• Ensure software solutions are scalable, reliable, and maintainable, continuously improving development processes
• Make decisions on technical aspects of software design and development, providing input on strategic decisions related to system architecture and team processes. All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training. Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization. Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations​.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide global oversight, governance, and operational ownership for the Appspace platform across regions.
• Design, implement, and support integrations between various enterprise applications.
• Ensure secure, reliable, and compliant data exchanges using enterprise integration standards.
• Act as primary escalation point for platform and integration-related incidents, driving root cause analysis and resolution.

Key Requirements / Minimum Qualifications:

Experience

• 3–5 years of overall IT or Business Technology experience.
• Experience working with global enterprise platforms (Appspace or equivalent preferred).
• Strong hands-on experience delivering and supporting system integrations
• Experience working in global, matrixed organizations with geographically distributed stakeholders.
• Exposure to regulated or compliance-driven environments preferred.

Technical Skills

• Appspace administration and configuration
• Enterprise integration technologies (REST APIs, SSO, SCIM etc).
• Identity & Access Management with Okta and directory services.
• Knowledge of ITIL-based service management and incident handling.

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to operate independently with end-to-end ownership.
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
• Comfort working across cultures and time zones.

Work hours: 1 PM to 10 PM IST
