How you will make an impact:
• Lead commercial and financial analysis to propose transactions optimized for price, terms, and risk.
• Ensure compliance with Ciena governance, proposal processes, deal approvals as per internal OMP (Opportunity Management Process) and contract standards.
• Deliver financial planning for the region and support account teams in executing opportunities.
• Track and analyze commercial performance metrics and prepare insights‑driven reports.
• Provide post‑deal performance analysis to guide continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with account leaders to influence commercial decision‑making.
• Develop P&L assessments and review customer‑proposed terms and conditions.
The must haves:
• Chartered Accountant with 7+ years of experience in commercial management, deal desk operations, or related functions.
• Strong financial acumen with working knowledge of revenue‑recognition requirements.
• Deep understanding of deal structures, commercial terms, and legal considerations.
• Experience in or exposure to the telecommunications industry.
• Ability to clearly articulate risks and opportunities within complex transactions.
• Skilled at navigating ambiguity and guiding stakeholders across all levels.
• Proven ability to manage tight deadlines and customer‑driven demands.
Nice to haves:
• Experience collaborating with PLM, Services, Legal, Marketing, Order Management, FP&A, and Finance.
• Prior involvement in Opportunity Management Process (OMP) environments.
• Familiarity with analyzing price and cost structures for deal approvals.
• Background in continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑influence skills.
