Role Title Solution Architect – Industrial Digital Solutions, Bid Support Location : Electronic city, Bangalore Role Purpose The Solution Architect is a full-time core member of the Bid Support team, dedicated to industrial digitalization opportunities. This role is not an occasional contributor or an external support function; it is part of the dedicated Bid Support setup and owns the technical solution definition during the bid phase. The Solution Architect is responsible for defining feasible, competitive, and technically sound digital solution concepts for industrial bids. The role combines strong industrial automation background with digitalization capabilities, ensuring that proposed solutions are realistic, aligned with the portfolio, executable by the delivery organization, and clearly translated into bid documentation. Key Responsibilities · Act as the dedicated Solution Architect within the Bid Support team for industrial digital bids. · Own the technical solution concept during the bid phase, together with the Technical Project Lead and Bid / Commercial / Process Owner. · Analyze customer RFPs, RFQs, technical specifications, and scope documents to identify digitalization requirements, assumptions, risks, exclusions, and solution boundaries. · Define the high-level solution architecture, including software, automation, connectivity, data, cloud/on-premise, integration, cybersecurity, and operational constraints. · Translate customer requirements into a clear, feasible, and executable technical solution concept. · Prepare technical proposal content, solution descriptions, architecture narratives, scope split, assumptions, exclusions, and clarification responses. · Ensure alignment between the proposed solution, available portfolio, standard products, execution capabilities, and delivery model. · Coordinate with Software Architects, Technology, Portfolio & Innovation, Cybersecurity, and Execution teams to validate feasibility, dependencies, and technical risks. · Challenge unclear or unrealistic customer requirements and define a practical offer strategy. · Support effort estimation by defining solution scope, major work packages, technical dependencies, integration needs, and required competence profiles. · Contribute to bid reviews, technical risk assessments, bid/no-bid inputs, and customer-facing technical discussions when required. · Build reusable solution patterns, reference architectures, proposal texts, and lessons learned to improve bid efficiency and repeatability. Required Experience - · Strong background in industrial automation, preferably with hands-on exposure to control systems, industrial networks, PLC/SCADA/DCS environments, OT systems, or industrial software. · Solid understanding of industrial digitalization solutions, such as condition monitoring, performance monitoring, energy management, asset management, data platforms, cloud/on-premise architectures, analytics, AI-enabled solutions, or industrial IoT. · Experience in technical sales support, bid support, solution engineering, project engineering, or execution of industrial digital projects. · Ability to read and interpret RFPs, technical specifications, customer requirements, and contractual scope boundaries. · Practical understanding of how digital solutions are implemented in real industrial environments, not only from a conceptual or software-only perspective. · Experience working with cross-functional teams across Sales, Engineering, Software, Cybersecurity, Portfolio, and Project Execution. Required Skills · Strong solution architecture and system-thinking capability. · Ability to simplify complex technical content into clear proposal language. · Strong understanding of feasibility, execution risk, interfaces, dependencies, and integration challenges. · Good communication skills with both technical and commercial stakeholders. · Ability to challenge assumptions and protect the organization from unrealistic or underdefined scope. · Structured mindset for documenting solution decisions, assumptions, exclusions, and open points. · Fluent English; German or other regional language is a plus. Preferred Profile · Candidate coming from an industrial automation background with strong exposure to digitalization. · Experience in energy, oil & gas, process industries, cement, marine, chemicals, utilities, or similar industrial segments. · Exposure to cybersecurity standards, industrial data architectures, cloud platforms, edge solutions, or managed digital services. · Experience with Siemens Energy / Siemens portfolio, industrial software, or automation/digital delivery models is a strong plus.
