We are the Prime Video Offers team: the front of the funnel for Prime Video's global growth. We own the tier-1 services that put offers and products on the shelf for customers worldwide, operating at billions of transactions per day with obsessively high reliability. The Opportunity
This is not a support role or a component team. Our engineering teams in Bengaluru own entire product surfaces end-to-end, and are responsible for extending the set of offers, discounts and deals to customers across the globe. The work you do here directly extends the top of the funnel for Prime Video's worldwide customer growth.
The scale of the challenge is real: we serve hundreds of millions of customers who speak different languages, use diverse devices, expect different offers, and pay in different ways. We do this across multiple product lines, each with hundreds of features, in dozens of countries, in partnership with tens of thousands of companies. The combinatorial complexity this creates is one of the hardest unsolved engineering problems in our space — and AI has become central to how we tackle it.
Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Manager on the Prime Video Offers team, you will:
Lead 1–2 teams of high-caliber Software Engineers building and scaling world-class distributed systems that serve billions of requests per day — systems that customers worldwide interact with every time they browse, buy, or subscribe on Prime Video.
Own the customer experience end-to-end. You and your teams are directly responsible for the commerce surfaces customers encounter daily — from the offers on the shelf to the checkout flow. You'll make high-impact decisions that shape how hundreds of millions of customers experience Prime Video commerce, globally.
Drive strategy in partnership with Product, UX, and senior leadership. You'll be a key voice in defining what we build and why — collaborating closely with product managers and UX designers to translate customer insights into technical direction, and engaging regularly with senior leadership to align on priorities, communicate trade-offs, and influence the roadmap.
Set the standard for engineering excellence — leading design reviews, providing insightful code reviews, and actively mentoring engineers across seniority levels.
Identify and solve ambiguous, high-impact technical problems, including architecture deficiencies and bottlenecks that constrain innovation across Prime Video.
Recruit, hire, mentor, and coach SDEs at all levels — building the next generation of engineering talent in Bengaluru.
Manage delivery commitments within an Agile/Scrum environment, owning all operational metrics and support for your teams' software.
A day in the life
Your day is varied and high-impact. You might start with a design review for a new AI-powered personalization feature, move into a roadmap trade-off discussion with a product leader, and close the day in a senior leadership review for a critical launch. You'll be deeply involved in hiring and developing talent, attending operational reviews to raise the bar on software quality, and working with your teams to solve problems that don't have easy answers. No two days are the same — and that's by design.

We are the Prime Video Commerce Offers team in Bengaluru — engineers across all levels and managers who build and own the commerce experiences that customers across the globe interact with every day. We put offers, deals, and products on the shelf for hundreds of millions of Prime Video customers, and we take that responsibility seriously.

- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
