As a Back-End Developer for Storage, you will design, develop, unit test, and deliver offerings for IBM Storage products using agile practices and DevOps tooling. You will work in a collaborative environment to understand requirements and create creative solutions to client problems, emphasizing fail-first, fail-fast methods and ensuring world-class quality and resiliency.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Design and Develop Storage Solutions: Design, code, debug, and test creative solutions to client problems and requirements, utilizing languages such as Embedded C, C, Python, GoLang, scripting languages (Ansible), C++, and Java.
* Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work in a collaborative environment to understand requirements and ensure solutions meet client needs, emphasizing fail-first, fail-fast methods and user mode programming.
* Ensure Quality and Resiliency: Ensure world-class quality and resiliency in solutions, supporting strategic imperatives including artificial intelligence and cloud.
* Develop Software Applications: Design software applications or device drivers for Linux, Unix, AIX, and RTOS, and work on Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes container software.
* Optimize Performance: Apply knowledge of performance engineering, Linux kernel level programming, and clustering/distributed computing networking technologies to optimize solution performance. Experience in core and crash dump analysis and addressing SAMBA issues
* Storage Solution Development Experience: Experience with designing, developing, and delivering storage solutions using agile practices and DevOps tooling, with emphasis on fail-first, fail-fast methods and world-class quality and resiliency.
* Programming Language Proficiency: Experience with programming languages such as Embedded C, C, Python, GoLang, scripting languages (Ansible), C++, and Java, and ability to apply them to create creative solutions to client problems.
* Operating System Knowledge: Experience with Linux, Unix, AIX, and RTOS, including designing software applications or device drivers, and working with container software such as Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes.
* Industry Standard Protocols: Experience with industry standard protocols such as PCIe, NVMe, NVMeoF, Fibre Channel, and SCSI, and ability to apply them to storage solutions.
* Performance Engineering: Experience with performance engineering, Linux kernel level programming, and clustering/distributed computing networking technologies, with ability to optimize solution performance.
* Mainframe Storage Solutions: Experience with mainframe storage solutions, including knowledge of database technologies such as IMS and DB2.
* Storage Security Architecture: Experience with storage security architecture, including TCG OPAL.
* Distributed Computing Networking: Experience with clustering and distributed computing networking technologies, including TCP/IP, RoCE, and Infiniband. Experience in core and crash dump analysis and addressing SAMBA issues
