Software Consultant

The role will involve working closely with the Team Leader, Technical Lead and other team members to provide programming and analytical skills needed to enhance and support the software applications of Directory Systems at NEXT. The successful candidate will be involved in the support and enhancement of existing eCommerce Mainframe system using Mainframe skills- COBOL, JCL,VSAM,DB2,ADABAS and CICS.

•  Developer needs to work with business users/offshore SME to understand business processes, and translate them into technical specifications and in turn do the development.

•  The Developer needs to support the application by running /monitoring various Mainframe UAT/Production region Batches.

•  Developer should be able to handle Mainframe region job ABENDS and provide solutions.

•  Developer needs to have strong analytical skill and should be able to provide a solution to research tickets.

•  Developer needs to handle small/medium enhancements to the application.

•  Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts.

•  High and Low Level Design

•  Code Development and Review.

•  Developer is expected to fulfill customer specific SLAs.

•  Communicates technical issues within scope of assignment.

•  Engages in continuous learning both on the job and through technical training in order to expand and enhance technical expertise and competency and keep pace with technology advancements.

Technical skillsets:

-  COBOL
-  JCL
-  DB2
-  VSAM
-  CICS, NDVR, SYNCSORT/DFSORT, FTP, SFTP, MQ Queue
-  Good to have REXX experience but not mandatory
-  Good to have ADABAS experience but not mandatory
-  Good to have ENDEVOR experience but not mandatory
