We are looking for Software Architect – Train IT We are seeking an experienced Train IT Software Architect to lead the small development project team and help with communication to our customers and organization. If you have strong technical background, have experience with leading a small team and want to develop your organization and communication skills, please, read on. Our system is called RDA, and it comes with custom hardware suitable for running in harsh conditions of the train (where it sometimes gets cold, wet and bumpy on the rails). RDA also comes with set of applications like CCTV, passenger counting, passenger information, integration with train control systems (imagine CAN bus in cars, but for train) You’ll make a difference by Act as a software development lead for a small team (6-8 members). Manage backlog of the team, expectations of stakeholders and project deliverables. Take responsibility for implementation and integration of Train IT subsystems along the development lifecycle of a train project. Collaborate with the team on choosing the correct technical approach for projects at hand. Challenge the team to grow its capabilities and improve its service to customers. Define functional concepts, use cases, and system requirements based on customer requirements. Optimize workflows in the team and team's communication Desired Skills: At least 10+ years of experience in software development. Experience with leading a small technical team. Strong in communication. Background in object-oriented programming (ideally C/C++, C# could be as well). Linux systems and good understanding of how they work. Ready to build specific domain know-how of train systems. Understand configuration management, build automation. Support the team in building its technical tool chain by balancing it with project delivery topics. Understanding of Networking and Wireless Communication principles. Hands-on experience with packet analysis tools like Wireshark or similar dump utilities is highly preferred. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) is a strong plus. Proven experience of working with C++ open-source libraries (e.g., BOOST, ACE etc.). Fluency in English Join us and be yourself!
