Summary

The Senior Windchill & ThingWorx Navigate Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting custom solutions within PTC Windchill PLM and ThingWorx Navigate to enhance HMH's engineering and product lifecycle management processes. This role develops Windchill customizations, ThingWorx applications, and enterprise integrations with SAP and other business systems while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams to deliver scalable digital solutions. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in ThingWorx/Navigate configuration, Windchill development, Java programming, system integrations, and PLM business processes, enabling the continued growth and modernization of HMH's engineering systems landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and deploy:
  • ThingWorx applications, dashboards, mashups, services, widgets, extensions and Navigate solutions. 
  • Windchill customizations, enhancements, workflows, lifecycle management, change management, BOM management, and maintain Windchill custom APIs and integrations.
• Integrate Windchill and ThingWorx with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, Active Directory, and other enterprise systems.
• Participate in requirements gathering, technical design, estimation, and solution architecture.
• Create technical documentation, gather requirements, participate in Agile delivery teams, and provide technical leadership.
• Participate in Agile development practices and code reviews.
• Support CI/CD, build automation, release management, and DevOps initiatives.
• Troubleshoot application issues and deliver root cause analysis.
• Identify and communicate opportunities, dependencies, and risks.
• Follow IT Change Management for all codes, configurations, and system changes
• ·Stay current with PTC Windchill best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation
• Project support where needed, and not limited to the above responsibilities
• Be flexible with global time-zone support differences.  Preferred Hours:  Between 1:00am-10:00am US Central Time
• Be flexible with off-hour support on critical issues and change rollouts.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience.

• 6+ years of hands-on PTC Windchill development and administration experience.

• 3+ years of ThingWorx development experience.

• Experience with Windchill 10.x, 11.x, 12.x and 13.x platforms.
• Strong Java, Java EE, JavaScript, SQL, REST API, XML, and scripting skills.
• Experience integrating PLM systems with ERP platforms such as SAP ECC/S4 HANA.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• PTC ThingWorx Developer:  Foundation, Composer, Navigate, Mashup Builder, Data Shapes, Thing Templates, Services & Subscriptions
• Experience with Windchill+, MPMLink, ProjectLink, PartsLink, and Supplier Management modules.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, OAuth/SSO integration
• Development Technologies:  REST APIs, SQL / PostgreSQL, JavaScripts, JSP, Java, J2EE, REST/OData services, Azure Cloud services
