The Role

Are you ready to join the team of software engineering experts at Kyndryl? We are seeking a talented Software Engineering Technical Specialist to contribute to our software engineering space and provide critical skills required for the development of cutting-edge products.  
As a Software Engineering Technical Specialist, you will develop solutions in specific domains such as Security, Systems, Databases, Networking Solutions, and more. You will be a leader – contributing knowledge, guidance, technical expertise, and team leadership skills. Your leadership will be demonstrated in your work, to your customers, and within your teams.

Driving the design, development, integration, delivery, and evolution of highly scalable distributed software you will integrate with other layers and offerings. You will provide deeper functionality and solutions to address customer needs. You will work closely with software engineers, architects, product managers, and partner teams to get high-quality products and features through the agile software development lifecycle.

We are seeking a seasoned System Architect with deep expertise in enterprise job scheduling tools such as Control-M and IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing scheduling architectures that support complex batch processing environments across hybrid infrastructures.

• Design scalable and resilient scheduling architectures usingControl-M,TWS, or similar tools

  
  

• Define system components and integration points based on cost-benefit analysis and user requirements

  
  

• Partition large systems into manageable subsystems for efficient scheduling and monitoring

  
  

• Lead deployment and configuration acrossmainframe,distributed, andcloudenvironments

  
  

• Integrate scheduling platforms with enterprise applications, databases, and monitoring tools

  
  

• Develop and maintainjob flows,calendars,dependencies, andrecovery procedures

  
  

• Analyze batch performance and optimize job scheduling to reduce latency and improve throughput

  
  

• Maintain scheduling environments, includingpatching,upgrades, anddisaster recovery planning

  
  

• Ensure compliance withsecurityandauditrequirements

  
  

• Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure engineers, and business stakeholders

  
  

• ProvideLevel 2/3 supportand participate in24x7 on-call rotations

  
  

• Document architecture, job flows, and operational procedures

  
  

Your continuous grooming of features/user stories to estimate, identify technical risks/dependencies and clearly communicate them to project stakeholders will ensure the features are delivered with the right quality and within timeline. You will maintain and drive the clearing of technical debt, vulnerabilities, and currency of the 3rd party components within the product.
As a Software Engineering Technical Specialist, you will also coach and mentor engineers to design and implement highly available, secure, distributed software in a scalable architecture. • 8+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years injob scheduling architecture

  
  

• Hands-on experience withControl-M,TWS, or similar workload automation tools

  
  

• Strong understanding ofJCL,REXX,VSAM, and IBM utilities (e.g., IEBCOPY, IEBGENER)

  
  

• Familiarity with scheduling concepts likeconditional dependencies,calendars,triggers, andrecovery jobs

  
  

• Experience withscripting(Shell, Python, etc.) and integration withAPIs

  
  

• Excellentproblem-solving,planning, andcommunicationskills

  
  

• BMC Certified Control-M Administrator or Architect

  
  

• IBM Certified Scheduler (TWS)

  
  

• ITIL Foundationor equivalent certification

  
  

• Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science,Information Systems, or related field
