In this role, you will be responsible for taking concepts from idea to execution—creating innovative machine designs, developing detailed engineering drawings, and ensuring manufacturability and performance.
You will work closely with production, quality, and vendor teams to bring designs to life, while also supporting installation and commissioning activities.
The position requires strong mechanical design expertise, hands-on experience with automation systems, and proficiency in CAD tools.

Key Responsibilities Design and develop special purpose machines (SPM) from concept to final execution Create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using tools like SolidWorks and AutoCAD Prepare assembly drawings, manufacturing drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) Perform engineering calculations including load analysis and basic stress evaluation Design and integrate pneumatic and hydraulic systems into machine solutions Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, vendors, quality, and maintenance Support manufacturing processes by addressing design-related challenges and ensuring feasibility Assist in machine assembly, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues during build Participate in on-site installation and commissioning of machines Continuously improve designs for efficiency, reliability, and cost optimization What Makes You a Great Fit Strong foundation in mechanical design and engineering principles Proven experience in designing special purpose machines (SPM) and automation systems Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD Good understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, motors, and gear systems Familiarity with manufacturing processes including machining and fabrication Ability to perform engineering calculations and basic stress analysis Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting Experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors Ability to manage multiple design projects and meet deadlines Good communication skills and willingness to support on-site commissioning activities
