The Senior Software Architect takes on a foundational role in defining the software landscape for our analyzer instrument, automation, and clinical informatics product lines. You will be part of a global team of senior software architects who define and own the software architectures across all product lines. Your role is key in conceptualizing and championing a robust reference architecture, a unified software platform, and a dynamic technology stack that empowers rapid innovation, seamless integration, and unparalleled performance across our diverse portfolio. This role is for a strategic thinker and technical leader who is passionate about building scalable, secure, and intelligent platforms, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and the transformative power of Generative AI. You will collaborate closely with product line architects, engineering leadership, and R&D functions enterprise-wide to ensure our technical foundations not only meet today's demands but also anticipate tomorrow's breakthroughs in patient care.

This position reports to the Chief Software Architect, is part of the Digital Solutions Software Engineering Team located in Bengaluru, India and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Play a pivotal role in driving the definition and evolution of a comprehensive, enterprise-wide reference architecture, a common software platform, and a future-proof technology stack that serves as the blueprint for all product development across instrument, automation, and informatics solutions.
• Drive technical governance and establish architectural patterns, standards, and best practices that foster innovation, reusability, security, and scalability across diverse product lines.
• Partner closely with product architects, engineering leads, and R&D teams to translate architectural vision into actionable roadmaps, providing expert guidance and mentorship to cultivate architectural excellence throughout the organization.
• Leverage your strong experience in cloud platforms, cloud-native principles, microservices, containerization, and modern API strategies, to guide product teams towards a unified, resilient, and highly performant platform.
• Strategically evaluate, select, and integrate emerging technologies, with a strong focus on Generative AI, to unlock new capabilities, enhance developer productivity, and create intelligent diagnostic solutions across the organization.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 12+ years of progressive experience in software product development and technical leadership roles, with a strong emphasis on platform or enterprise architecture.
• Proven track record in defining the architecture for complex software products and developing cloud, edge, hybrid software solutions, preferably in regulated environments such as medical devices, diagnostics, or life sciences.
• Strong knowledge of architectural patterns, microservices, APIs, data architecture, C#/.NET, and demonstrated passion, understanding and practical experience with Generative AI technologies.
• Solid expertise in major cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP), including experience with serverless computing, container orchestration (Kubernetes), infrastructure as code, and cloud security best practices.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills with a business, global, and cross-functional mindset.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Practical experience in modernizing legacy software systems, transforming them into state-of-the-art software solutions with modern deployment strategies, including cloud-native, cloud-hybrid, and containerized environments.
• Direct experience in in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) instrument development, digital health platforms, or regulated healthcare software development.
• Experience with Agile frameworks adapted for regulated environments (e.g., Agile with Design Controls), or hybrid Agile/Waterfall implementations for safety-critical software.
