Senior Engineer - Data Science

What you’ll do:
Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. As a standalone company, the Mobility business will be more focused and agile, creating exciting opportunities for employees to grow, innovate, and help shape the future of mobility. The separation reflects strong confidence in the Mobility team and positions the new company as an employer of choice in the automotive and commercial vehicle industry.
The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

We’re continuing to expand our organization and we are excited to announce that we are recruiting a Senior Data Scientist to join our team. The Senior Data Scientist will collaborate with Eaton product groups to develop new data-science based product features. The features will primarily address emergent use cases in the industrial and energy domains. The successful candidate will be expected to analyse requirements to drive the research and development of Machine Learning techniques to production of the features and monitoring after. In addition, the candidate will be expected to understand and consider system constraints – especially constraints related to implementing algorithms on resource-constrained platforms.

• Perform data analytics and optimization using machine learning and deep learning; contribute to analytics strategy
• Integrate data, conduct ad-hoc analysis, prototype ideas, develop statistical models, and run experiments
• Design data-driven solutions for critical business problems and innovate using new and existing data sources
• Present insights and results to internal stakeholders, clients, and external partners
• Use appropriate databases and project architectures to support collaborative development
• Enhance and support existing data science products; build custom models and algorithms
• Develop tools and processes to monitor performance, ensure data quality, and apply predictive modeling
• Deliver high-impact projects with strong architecture, technical execution, and end-to-end ownership
• Apply Agile methodologies and deliver production-ready data science solutions
• Collaborate with experts across ML, DL, distributed systems, product, and program teams on end-to-end pipelines
• Lead technical solution design and architecture across data engineering and data science initiatives
• Analyze business requirements and identify optimal technical solutions
• Define, implement, and document performance monitoring and evaluation frameworks
• Write high-quality, optimized, unit-tested code for data extraction and transformation
• Partner closely with stakeholders, engineering, and QA to deliver reliable, user-focused solutions
Qualifications:

Master’s degree pusuing in Mechanical, computer science, Data Science, software engineering, digital signal processing, Electrical, Electronics, Aerospace or related field
"• 5+ years of progressive experience in delivering data science/AI technology solutions in a production environment
• 6 years working with customers (internal and external) on developing requirements and working to deliver end-to-end solution

Required
• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent Engineering field with strong knowledge in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, AI, Statistics, and Data Mining.

Skills:

"Required
• Experience in Machine Learning, Deep Learning (CNN,RNN, ..), Reinforcement Learning, Optimization Techniques, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Recommendation AI Systems. 
• Experience in Tensor Flow, Scikit, Keras, Spark ML
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, Matlab,PySpark, SparkR, Scala along with a good understanding of the Linux platform
• Strong knowledge on Databricks
• Experience in at least one cloud provider (AWS, Azure, Google)
• Excellent communication (verbal, presentation, documentation) skills, working with teams that are geographically dispersed, to produce solutions that satisfy functional and non-functional requirements and the ability to effectively explain technical concepts
• Ability to write code that is accessible, secure, and optimized for performance, with the capability to output to different types of consumers and systems.
• Solid understanding of Java and/or Python and associated IDE’s (Eclipse, IntelliJ, etc.)
• Extensive experience with Agile development methodologies and concepts.
