What you'll Build?

At SAP Ariba Procurement Product Team, our mission is to provide the world’s leading cloud-based spend management solution, unifying the SAP Procurement portfolio across SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba Applications & Business Network, and SAP Fieldglass.

To strengthen our team further, we are looking for a motivated and skilled ABAP Senior Developer to join our S/4 Procurement Bangalore Team. In this role, you'll:

• Work as a full stack ABAP developer to design and develop software applications in SAP S/4HANA public cloud environment.
• Collaborate with functional experts to refine complex business requirements and translate them into scalable designs and implementations.
• Lead technical discussions and work closely with development managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, customer-centric features.
• Drive a test-driven and quality-first development approach, ensuring end-to-end ownership of features from design to deployment.
• Apply and champion clean-code principles through deep modularization, refactoring, debugging, and mentoring junior developers during code reviews.
• Contribute to and enhance automation test frameworks, ensuring high regression coverage and stable product delivery cycles.
• Create detailed technical documentation, design artifacts, and reusable development patterns that accelerate engineering efficiency across teams.
• Continuously explore and drive developer efficiency improvements through tooling enhancements, automation, reusable components, standardization, and adoption of modern ABAP Cloud/RAP practices.
• Drive adoption of generative AI and machine learning across procurement systems, utilizing SAP's AI services to revolutionize user experiences and automation.
• Design high-performance, globally distributed architectures using SAP's cloud-native principles.
• Build AI-powered automation for testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident response in enterprise software delivery.

What you bring?

• 10 years plus of experience in software development & strong educational qualifications (Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or MCA)
• Strong programming fundamentals with deep expertise in core ABAP concepts such as modularization, debugging, ABAP Dictionary, along with hands-on proficiency in ABAP/ABAP OO, CDS view modelling, OData services, and HANA.
• Hands-on experience with RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model) for building cloud-ready, clean-core compliant applications in S/4HANA Public Cloud.
• Working knowledge of SAP Fiori elements and UI5 to support end-to-end development scenarios
• Good understanding of automation test frameworks such as Vyper, OPA5, or QUnit, with the ability to influence test coverage and quality engineering practices.
• Understanding of agile development processes; functional knowledge of Procurement/MM or related business processes is an advantage.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced cloud product environment with a strong focus on performance, extensibility, maintainability, and developer efficiency.
