Selection Operations Manager - Amazon Now
Amazon Now is seeking a structured and execution-focused Selection Operations Manager to lead selection strategy and operations. The role requires strong analytical rigor, stakeholder management, and program management skills to build and maintain the right selection for customers across categories and cities.
Key Responsibilities:
Selection Strategy:
Design the selection strategy for Amazon Now, defining what to stock, where to stock, and at what depth across darkstores and superstores
Build category-level and city-level selection frameworks anchored on customer demand, competitor benchmarking, and store constraints
Define selection guardrails covering assortment width, brand mix, and price point coverage
Continuously sharpen selection logic based on performance data and market shifts
Stakeholder Alignment:
Work with category managers, instock, operations, and leadership to align on selection strategy and secure buy-in
Run structured review mechanisms to collect feedback, resolve conflicts, and iterate on selection logic
Publish clear documentation and decision frameworks for stakeholder visibility
Selection Curation:
Partner with sellers, brands, and category managers to curate the right selection for each category
Identify and close selection gaps versus competition through crawls, benchmarking, and customer signals
Drive onboarding of priority brands and ASINs in partnership with seller-facing teams
Programmatic Selection Management:
Build programmatic processes for addition of NPIs (new product introductions) with clear intake, evaluation, and go-live SLAs
Design and operate removal mechanisms for non-performing ASINs based on defined performance thresholds
Automate selection health tracking through dashboards covering coverage, productivity, and gap metrics
Seasonal & Topical Programs:
Manage seasonal and topical selection (festivals, events, weather-led demand) through programmatic playbooks
Define pre-season readiness timelines, selection ramp-up plans, and post-season exit criteria
Coordinate cross-functional execution to ensure timely availability of event-relevant selection
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field
Experience in category management, selection planning, merchandising, or related areas
Strong proficiency in data analysis; excellence in Excel, SQL, and business intelligence tools
Proven track record of building and scaling operational processes
Experience managing multiple stakeholders and driving alignment
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA or advanced degree
Experience in e-commerce, quick commerce, or retail selection/assortment planning
Programming knowledge (Python, R)
Program management experience with automated or rule-based systems
Leadership Competencies:
Demonstrate ownership in driving results end to end
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellence in stakeholder management and ability to influence without authority
Bias for action with high standards on process quality
Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
