Job Description

Salesforce is currently seeking a Senior Technical Arhictect to join our Global Delivery Centre (GDC) team.



The Functional Migration Strategist is a senior-level advisor who designs and delivers complex, enterprise-scale migration strategies for our strategic customers and products. This role acts as the bridge between business vision and technical execution, bringing together diverse stakeholders to realize a seamless transition to the Salesforce platform. As a foundational hire for the Strategic Migration CoE, you will serve as a high-level strategist, migration specialist, and technical advisor focused on driving tangible business outcomes through sophisticated data and metadata movement.



The Functional Migration Strategist is responsible for the E2E functional and technical blueprint of migration workstreams, ensuring that business roadmaps are mapped directly into the product architecture. You will combine deep Salesforce platform expertise with a comprehensive understanding of how data flows between disparate enterprise systems—both on and off the Salesforce platform.



Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Lead Strategist for the Migration Factory, overseeing the overarching migration strategy between different clouds and identifying critical dependencies.



  • Architect and design high-performance migration solutions that align with business goals, ensuring the target state architecture maximizes standard out-of-the-box Salesforce capabilities.



  • Map business strategies to technical outcomes, translating executive value drivers into actionable migration roadmaps and technical cutover plans.



  • Lead a team of architects focused on driving optimized migration patterns across Salesforce Data Cloud, Core Clouds (Sales, Service, Experience), and Industry-specific solutions.



  • Create comprehensive data and metadata migration strategies that address complex business logic, historical data preservation, and system-wide integrity.



  • Serve as a Trusted Advisor to the client, driving conversations with Enterprise Architects and business owners to shape the architectural vision of the migration program.



  • Participate in pre-sales and discovery, conducting technical deep-dives, proof-of-concept (POC) developments, and providing accurate estimations for complex migration efforts.



  • Negotiate solutions to sophisticated problems, balancing the needs of the business with the technical constraints of high-volume data movement and platform governor limits.



  • Engage with Salesforce Product teams to align migration strategies with the product roadmap and ensure support for complex implementations.



  • Lead functional and technical workshops, demonstrating mastery in User Journey preparation, User Story reviews, and the design of sophisticated business processes using native platform tools.



  • Act as a Program Architect, managing risk proactively and committing to the successful resolution of architectural bottlenecks from inception to deployment.



  • Establish trust with customer leadership, promoting standard processes for digital transformation and enterprise-scale data management.



Qualifications:
  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) credential (Preferred).



  • 14+ years of experience in developing enterprise technology solutions, with at least 5+ years in client-facing advisory roles.



  • Proven expertise in executing large-scale migrations, having successfully led multiple migration projects involving high volumes of data and complex system landscapes.



  • Deep Salesforce Platform Expertise, with a thorough understanding of technical complexities including Apex Design Patterns, LWC, and modern UI techniques.



  • Core Technical Mastery (Must Have):



    • Data Architecture & Management: Understanding of data flow, ERD design, and Large Data Volume (LDV) strategies.



    • Integration Architecture: Mastery of REST/SOAP APIs, authentication mechanisms, and middleware patterns.



    • Identity & Access Management: Strategic planning for user migration, SSO, and visibility models.



    • Platform Security: Designing secure data movement protocols and compliance-aligned architectures.



  • System Versatility: Strong understanding of systems beyond Salesforce; experience with off-platform to off-platform (non-Salesforce to non-Salesforce) data migration is highly desired.



  • Functional Fluency: Ability to converse effectively with all stakeholders, from C-suite executives to technical developers, building strong cross-functional relations.



  • Preferred Technical Skills ("Good to Have"):



    • Hands-on experience with ETL tools (Informatica, MuleSoft, etc.) and Salesforce Data Cloud.



    • Expertise in Vlocity/OmniStudio (DataRaptors, Integration Procedures) and CPQ or Marketing Cloud domains.



  • Process Knowledge: Detailed understanding of Solution Architecting, effort estimation processes, and CI/CD pipelines (Git, Bitbucket).



  • Communication: Exceptional presentation and communication skills; ability to develop and deliver content tailored to both technical and business audiences.



  • Required Certifications: Application Architect, System Architect, and relevant Cloud Consultant certifications.
