Job Summary

The Painting QA is responsible for inspecting and verifying painting and coating activities to ensure they meet quality standards, customer specifications, and safety requirements. This role requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in painting, strong knowledge of surface preparation, and the ability to identify defects and ensure consistent finish quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect surface preparation activities before painting to ensure compliance with requirements

  
  

• Involve in customer offering of painted job as per client approved ITP.

  
  

• Verify paint application quality, including thickness, coverage, adhesion, and finish

  
  

• Check for surface defects such as rust, contamination, uneven coating, runs, blisters, or peeling

  
  

• Ensure painting work follows approved standards, work instructions, and customer specifications

  
  

• Conduct in-process and final quality inspections of painted components or structures

  
  

• Monitor Ambient conditions once in 4 hours.

  
  

• Document inspection results and report non-conformities or defects

  
  

• Coordinate with painters, supervisors, and production teams to resolve quality issues

  
  

• Verify the use of correct materials, tools, and coating systems

  
  

• Support corrective and preventive actions for painting-related quality concerns

  
  

• Maintain inspection records and quality documentation as required

  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in engineering

  
  

• Minimum 3 - 4 years of experience in painting related fields.

  
  

• Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques

  
  

• Experience in painting quality inspection or coating inspection

  
  

• Ability to identify paint and coating defects

  
  

• Understanding of painting standards, procedures, and inspection criteria

  
  

• Good attention to detail and documentation skills

  
  

• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and quality requirements

  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing production or manufacturing painting QA

  
  

• Knowledge of coating thickness measurement, Surface profile measurement, adhesion testing and inspection methods

  
  

• Understanding of safety practices related to painting and chemical handling

  
  

• NACE 1 / BGAS Grade 2 will be an added advantage
