This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 600000 - Rs 1000000 (ie INR 6-10 LPA) Experience: 4+ years Location: Kochi, Kerala, India JobType: full-time We are looking for a QA Engineer with strong expertise in both manual and automation testing, particularly in mobile application testing.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality software products through robust testing practices, scalable automation frameworks, and efficient defect management.
You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of mobile and backend systems by building and maintaining automation solutions, executing functional and API tests, and collaborating closely with development and product teams.
The role requires hands-on experience with automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, and modern testing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities Perform end-to-end manual functional testing for mobile applications and backend systems Develop, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks for mobile testing using Appium Convert manual test cases into reusable automated test scripts for efficient regression coverage Execute automated test suites across cloud device platforms such as BrowserStack, SauceLabs, or LambdaTest Conduct API testing and validation using tools like Postman Perform database validation and testing using SQL and database tools Identify, document, track, and resolve defects with detailed root-cause analysis using JIRA Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle Integrate automation scripts into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and faster releases Improve testing processes, automation coverage, and framework scalability Participate in test planning, requirement analysis, and quality reviews What Makes You a Great Fit 4+ years of QA experience with strong expertise in automation testing Hands-on experience in mobile automation testing using Appium Strong proficiency in Selenium with Java for automation development Experience working with JavaScript/TypeScript-based automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium Strong understanding of automation framework design principles including Page Object Model (POM) and reusable architecture Experience in API testing using Postman or similar tools Good knowledge of database testing using MySQL, MongoDB, or similar databases Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Git, and GitHub Strong debugging, analytical, and defect management skills Ability to work in agile development environments and collaborate effectively across teams Detail-oriented mindset with a strong focus on software quality and reliability
