Role Description




Join the Agentic AI team at Salesforce working on Data Management and make a real impact with your software designs and code! This position requires technical skills, outstanding analytical and influencing skills, and extraordinary business insight. It is a multi-functional role that requires building alignment and communication with several engineering organisations.
 



We work in a highly collaborative environment, and you will partner with a highly cross-functional team comprised of Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Machine learning engineers, UX experts, and product managers to build upon CLAIRE Agentic Data Management, our innovative new AI framework. We value execution, clear communication, feedback and making learning fun.




Your Impact



You will:



  • Architect, design and deliver AI solutions: Agents, AI Copilots/assistants, Chatbots, AI Planners, RAG solutions.



  • Be accountable for defining and driving software architecture that meet enterprise grade security, scalability, performance, fault tolerance and extensibility requirements.



  • Collaborate  with other senior engineers and architects within the team and across the company to build AI solutions for Agentic Data Management.



  • Determine overall architectural principles, frameworks, and standards to craft vision and roadmaps.



  • Analyze, develop proof-of-concepts and provide feedback on product strategy and technical feasibility.



  • Drive long-term design strategies that span multiple projects, deliver technical reports and performance presentations to customers and at industry events.



  • Mentor and motivate staff engineers, setting technical directions, and driving adoption of software engineering best practices



  • Be a domain expert for multiple products, while writing code and working closely with other developers, PM, and UX to ensure features are delivered to meet business and quality requirements.



  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and work with support and customers as needed.




Required Skills



  • 14+ years of experience in building highly scalable Software-as-a-Service applications/platform.



  • Experience building technical architectures that deliver Agentic Solutions to address end to end Customer use cases



  • Thrive in dynamic environments, working on cutting edge projects that often come with ambiguity.



  • Innovation/startup mindset to be able to adapt.



  • Deep expertise in Model Architectures and AI Systems, including orchestration for large-scale production deployments.



  • Expertise in Data architectures and Distributed systems, including designing and implementing data pipelines and real-time data systems for high-scale AI products.



  • Advanced Context Engineering, demonstrated through designing and building Agentic Experience and RAG solutions/Alternates for high-quality, contextualized AI experiences.



  • Strong Evaluation-led benchmarking (NFRs, SLIs, SLOs) to ensure performance, scalability, and Customer Trust in AI/ML systems.



  • Technical Leadership in Agentic Development, including designing and implementing agentic solutions and AI interfaces.



  •  Strong System design experience for Enterprise Grade AI products at Scale



  • Demonstrated track record of cultivating strong working relationships and driving collaboration across multiple technical and business teams to resolve critical issues.



  • Experience with the full software lifecycle in highly agile and ambiguous environments.



  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.



  • Strong coding experience in Python and Java for building robust, production-grade AI services.



  • Experience with conversation-level testing, dynamic simulation environments (e.g., Benchforce/eVerse), and custom scorers for continuous agent improvement and evaluation (ADLC).



  • Ability to design and implement inter-agent protocols (A2A) and Human-Agent Collaboration (HAC) frameworks to manage shared context and ensure responsible autonomy.



  • Deep understanding and implementation of an AI Trust Layer to ground AI systems in enterprise context, ensuring security and auto-blocking threats like prompt injection.




Preferred Skills



  • Familiarity with PySpark for large-scale data processing and distributed computing tasks within AI pipelines.



  • Experience with continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD), and service ownership.
