Principal Devops Engineer

About the Role:

You’ll own the systems that power Locus — from infrastructure and automation to CI/CD and reliability engineering. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who can see the big picture, drive architectural decisions, and enable engineering teams to ship faster, safer, and smarter. You won’t just maintain systems — you’ll build leverage across teams by leading with a platform mindset and creating scalable, self-serve infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure at ScaleDesign and evolve our cloud-native infrastructure (AWS/Kubernetes), ensuring availability, performance, and cost efficiency across regions and products.

  
  

• Platform & Developer ExperienceBuild internal tools and platforms that help engineers deploy, monitor, and scale their services independently — with minimal friction and maximum confidence.

  
  

• CI/CD & Release AutomationArchitect secure, fast, and scalable CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments using tools like GitHub Actions, and Jenkins.

  
  

• Reliability EngineeringChampion observability, SLOs, and incident response practices. Drive a culture of proactive performance monitoring and resilient system design.

  
  

• Security & GovernanceIntegrate DevSecOps practices — from policy-as-code and automated audits to secure secrets management and vulnerability scanning.

  
  

• Mentorship & Thought LeadershipGuide and mentor DevOps and SRE engineers. Partner closely with platform developers on infrastructure strategy, deployment patterns, and production readiness.

  
  

Must Haves:

• Experience: 10+ years in DevOps/SRE/Infrastructure roles, ideally in SaaS, product-led or scale-up environments.

  
  

• Cloud & Infra Expertise:Deep knowledge of AWS services, Kubernetes (EKS), VPC networking, container orchestration, and autoscaling patterns.
